I got one local landline num keep calling me. Googled it and saw that it's a famous Touch n Go telemarketer num with an attitude lol

yeah same with me..same messages i get just like u..

You have an option to block them

After you block them later they will still send this crap sms from another number.

Me too received from different number. (as per attached). Even if you block one number, there is more to come since is from different number! Damn annoying!

Now, f***ing bank agencies started using Viber to spam callers. I kena one last week. I blocked his mobile and after few minutes he called using Viber. I told him to stop or I will bury him and his family alive.

Gas station weekly contest, supermarket lucky draw, group chat with unknown people, forwarded emails, corrupted telco staff.

I have seen before someone got a hold of massive phone number, complete with name and address, all copied on photostat paper long time ago.

I have no idea how they got that amount of info but it seems systematically printed out from some sort of system.

That was before the so called data protection act la.

Some business are selling this kind of "Whatsapp Marketing" stuff now.
They bought 500k phones number database from god know who, then go approach businesses and say help "advertise" or send "e-flyer" for them.

They then send the business promotional images or text to these database through Whatsapp.

They are actively promoting this business model now, I heard there's one operating in Penang now, company name eCentury, they have meeting on every Monday and Friday at a office lot in Automall.

Damn spamming company, we need to report to the authority to stop Whatsapp spam.

Edit: Worst thing is, there is no option to OPT OUT from this spam, in emails at least we can opt out. This is some serious legal issue.

Phone numbers can be sourced by those people who stand around at shopping malls and asking you to fill in your particulars for some surveys. Typically these will require you to fill in your phone number too.

Then there's fairs like home deco fair or some other big exhibition where you can participate in lucky draws etc. Some of them will also require you to fill in your mobile no to paticipate.

you can sue them. our info are protected under PDPA. They obtained your information illegally without your consent.

there is no way they can reach us and know our info...it is unreasonable if the telemarketer tell us that they got our number 'purely by luck or coincidence'

thats why i always give fake telephone numbers to all those survey, marketing etc...only give real info to certain trustworthy parties.

andrew yaw is a fat ugly fcuker property agent who works in DF realty / regahome ....he and his so called team like to show off wif some recond or 2nd hand audi cars...usually with the license plate 8861 ... his team leader drive a ferrari gto but kena tarik balik bcoz cant afford to pay anymore ....

Anyone can register their number with PDPA, then they won't be able to bother you anymore. if they do just report to PDPA, they will be be liable to pay you damages up to Rm200,000 or jail up to 2 years:

" The PDPA gives consumers the right to request in writing for the direct marketer or direct seller to stop or even not begin processing their personal data. Failure to cease using personal data for direct marketing purposes after a data subject has objected could cost the offender a fine of up to RM200,000 and/or imprisonment of up to two years."
