When you get another 10% from 1.1mil, you actually get 0.11mil damage. So, once you put that on, you should have 1.1+0.11= 1.21.

Ops... i spot a mistake in my post. In that example, the math (based on video) was based on having only 20% elemental. Adding another 20% elemental will only gain you 16.6%.
In the case, if you already have 40% elemental, another 20% elemental will give you:
160/140 = 1.143 ~ 14% damage
