Death knights are more of defensive monsters. Ainz said it himself in SE0101. Defensively its equal to lvl40.

Pacing problem cos they try to fit too many stuffs per episode until it lacks impact. That and the low budget animation.

I guess you can say he wanted to BE Momonga even before Nazarick was transported to the new world.

Suzuki Satoru has no family, no social life, basically no life otaku tahap dewa.

The guy basically dedicates all his time and salary to the game as he felt that its the only place where he felt that he had some achievements and friends.

So Nazarick and his guardians, NPCs ("children" of his friends) are the only thing he cares about.

Notice that Ainz never spend any effort in looking for ways to return to the real world.

Edit: just to give some insights into his psyche... he used the cash shop item cos he thought it would be uncool if the super tier spell took too long to cast.

I guess the biggest mistake was the atmosphere.

Katze Plains are supposed to be a gloomy place where countless died during the annual wars and permanently surrounded by fog so one would assume they could animate it with the atmosphere of the lizardmen scene or clementine scene.

But they took the My little pony approach.

Dark Youngs are lvl 90 monsters.

To put things in perspective, Gazeff is only lvl28-29 so to him memang theres no weakness he can exploit.

It's like a sampan staring at an approaching battleship. A battleship has weaknesses but the sampan wouldn't be able to see it.

That spell wasn't particularly useful in Yggdrasil but Ainz chose it cos its flashy and he's curious about its effect in the new world.

Jincniv asked Ainz to cast his most powerful spell to signal the start of the battle and show the power of the new Sorcerer Kingdom.

More importantly Jincniv hoped that this will band human nations will form a coalition against Ainz eventhough Jincniv estimated 2-3 thousand ppl will die.

So Ainz just do only lah... but of course the estimations are waaay off.
