Hey guys, gt some questions to ask.
I saw some paint chip and rust spots on my hood.

QUOTE(knight @ Jun 30 2015, 04:12 PM) I think dun polish the rust. Will cause ur car paint problem. Why not try WD40 first and get some fine sand paper to rub only do touch up? If it's alot then just straight go spray the whole thing more worth the headache. i'm not really dare to sand my car, if plastic model i'm still ok with it. haha...2000 grid sand paper ok? |

QUOTE(KC's @ Jun 30 2015, 09:41 PM) Hi buddy If use alcohol rather than thinner can ar? Alcohol I gt a lot it is normal your car paint contain of metal body - primer paint- colour paint - lastly protected by clear coat.... now the scratch is so hard - it cut through the clear, then paint then primer - and the car body oxidise - aka look rust simplest was to solve - get thinner (you have nail polish remover???? mum ....girl friend...... then use their clear lacquer or vanish and touch up...... once you buy touch up paint ...then you remove the laquer or nail varnish by vanish remover or thinner once it removed the clear and touch up......with the paint "less is more agree polish can remove rust and paint imperfection but problem they have a film of oil or wax...so you can paint on it immediately ...need IPA (isophrophy alcohol) or thinner no need WD 40 this is not joint or have gears...the oil film is temporary and it will stick dust and your paint will not stick try nail varnish...cover the exposed area no need sand paper you are not going into a major repainting or putty.... first impression with Soft99 Meta Clean, i dun think it is a wax, it is a polish.
it can remove scratches just by 1 pass. tried on my door handle area, usually got a lot of scratches, but Meta clean manage to remove the scratches. I will see how it manages the water marks on my hood. just finish 1 door, my arm damn tired. |
