hi guys,
just got my new car. plan to wash and wax it now. have been doing some reading, initially i thought of going to do coating however now i think i'd go for regular wash / wax regime instead.
a few questions here.. i saw some of you posted this (wash - clay - sealant - wax) - i understand the washing and claying part, however a bit confused with the wax and sealant.. what's the difference? was told that since my car is new it doesnt really need polishing.
which car shampoo would you recommend? preferably something that's mid-class, not that expensive but not that cheapo either lol. along with the sealant and wax, any particular models to look for?
my car is grey by the way. thanks sifus!

Hi sifus. After some reading and researching, I decided to get these products for my 1-week-old car. Appreciate any comments before I proceed to purchasing them. Still torn between some of them, hope previous users can comment..
Plan to wash, clay, wash, apply sealant, and then wax. Hope to get the Bosch GEX-125AE ROB (or should I go for Meg's DA system + a drill instead? ) Or, would hand application be sufficient for these?
Shampoo: Meg's Ultimate Wash&Wax / Optimum No Rinse Sealant : Meg's M21 sealant / Optimum Opti-Seal Wax: Meg's Ultimate Liquid Wax QD: Sonax BSD / Meg's Quik Detailer
Plan to drop by Osren this weekend. Sifu KrisMas, you mentioned in one of your posts (that I digged lol) last time, the Bosch ROB can be used with LC or Sonax pads right? can I get the pad(s) at Osren? Looking to get the waxing / finishing pad.
Meg's direct MY has quite a number of good deals currently, even better priced than Lazada. Any ideas where I can get the Optimum ONR / Opti Seal / M21 sealant and esp the Sonax BSD? Saw a seller here on LYN but he seemed to be inactive..
Any thoughts would be welcomed. Thanks!

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 11 2016, 12:52 PM) The essentials for maintenance: Shampoo, clay, paint cleaner OR AIO, paint sealant OR wax, spray sealants/wax/detailer. For paint corretions (swirls, scratches, water marks/etchings, etc): compounds and/or polishes. Start with the basics, then move up from there. Shampoo - If you have the means, go for the normal shampoo. I would reserve the suggestion for 'no-rinse' only if you have limitations/not able to do a normal wash. Clay - pick one up if your car had never been clayed before. Sealant/wax - both M21 and Opti Seal have their own pros and cons. For ease of application I'd go for Opti Seal. And Megs Ultimate Liquid Wax comes in the same category so I'd just pick one of the three for protection. QD - Sonax BSD would be more than good enough. And there's not much application for a quick detailer in our climate or for a daily-drive. You can use any pads with the Bosch ROB as long as the size is right...between 5.25" ~ 6"...6.5" is max size that I would consider to be effective to be used on the Bosch. Thanks a lot bro KrisMas! now only i know that 'sealants' refer to synthetic wax. since i dont have that much of a budget.. i guess i'll just go for one of those. meg's ULW perhaps. i guess i have no need for a no-rinse wash so shall go with the normal shampoo. thanks again, will start my product-hunting now » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(mot88 @ Feb 11 2016, 08:11 PM) If used for spot buffing, then Meg DA Power system (use with drill) is better than Bosch but if you use for bigger area/ whole car, Bosch is better as you won't feel exhausted. DA is 2 systems into 1 and its tiring for long usage. I haven't know of any beginner using Meg's DA Power but most beginners start with Bosch ROB. For foam pad, Osren carry Lake Country 5.5" CCS pad for Bosch for RM 55 (excl gst) but the Orange pad is out of stock. There is one seller selling Menzerna pad at 11th street for RM 40+, if you want cheaper the same seller selling local produced pad form around RM 10+ each. Pad price is not cheap compared to machine. I m thinking of selling my Bosch ROB if you are interested, PM me. thanks bro mot88! i do notice that the meg's DA power system is a tad small. i live in JB so found a really good deal in SG (SGD85 for the DA system) but i gotta get myself a drill, and i have also read that it can be a bit tiring like you mentioned. thanks for the pads recommendation, now i know where to find the pads after i get the bosch ROB. seen good offers in Mudah but will PM you right after, should be better offer from you right? jk bro thanks again! by the way, are these detailing products cheaper in SG or MY?
