Aside from product itself, surfare preparation and regular of maintenance have direct impact to your product durability. Quik Wax is meant to be ease of use - easier in application - shorter time and faster.

Are you staying condos or landed ? How do your rate your 'seriousness' and passion level of car detailing or you just want those regular wash follow by some polish or wax....what is your budget you willing to spend overall ?
Where did you heard of this theory ?
its a company is big enough and have their own r&d or factory, they will control their product formula...but most of the time they outsource to 3rd party to do it...if you kiasu wanted to get the best and cheapest pricce, my advice is start with Apliexpress first...and EXPERIENCE it first....than maybe get ONE single piece from branded..and compare...still there is possible both item coming from the same source just different grading product...your call, your take...  smile.gif

my hometown landed, now staying apartment.. if want to wash need drive to car wash area.. bought hose for it lol.
my seriousness is 4 out of 5? i am stingy and chossy..

I want to find value for money product.. budget not much as it do the works its ok for me.. and i willing to learn n do some works.. my budget maybe below 50 if possible.. usually i bought those cheap product that do the almost same job

Go for this. Free shipping too.

http://www.lazada.com.my/magic101-value-pack-1403763.html

Also add in some microfiber towel if u want else use the softest towel you have to dry your car (risk is you may scratch your car paintwork/clearcoat)

Get a couple of sponges from Mr Diy. About RM5 for 2 big sponges and 4 small ones.

So far I've only spent around RM70 and my black car looks much better than before. Shiny lol.. Using RM15 wax.
*
Which rm 15 wax? This brand I bought the car shampoo before.. The bottle packaging really can spill all the shampoo out when it placed horizontal.. I take it out and pour into mineral water bottle lol.. So u use all those stuff in the package? Rm2x it's quite cheap

MEZX brand or something. Got it from Aeon. 20% discount.

RM2X is kinda cheap also and a good opportunity for me to try their products. So far, their Tyre Shine product is doing good ! smile.gif
*
hehe , so other product sucks in the package?
I not sure wanted to start from where lol...
Wax u using MEZX? shampoo using which? or any other product?

Still noob, u wax after washing car and dry it rite? if we not good in waxing, will it damage our paint?

Need some guide..
My budget should be around 50-100.
What should i buy ? recommended stuff shampoo and wax?

Haven't tried the other Magic 101 products. Just received it yesterday lol. On a side note, I got 2 microfiber towels at only RM15 each! (try to use microfiber as it helps reduce water streaks)

Yes wax using MEZX. The cheapest at AEON for the volume. Shampoo using Turtle Wax Wash and Wax. Recommended to get it at Ace Hardware if you want this model, get the 2L one, only a few ringgit more than the 1L one. Damn regretted. You could also try other car shampoo brands (like the magic 101 set).

Actually if your car is full of scratches and all, you should Polish it. If still in good condition, the paintwork and all, waxing is good enough. Wax after washing and drying your car. Try not to get those quick spray wax as it's not meant to be standalone wax and they don't last. Get those paste or liquid wax (hint: Magic 101) as your primary wax (probably monthly application) and you can get quick wax as a secondary layer (probably weekly application).

Waxing is just adding a layer of "oil" like substance on your car. I don't know how incorrect application will do any harm lol. Just watch some videos on how to apply.

Other products to consider, rain repellent, tyre cleaner, tyre shine (makes your tyres look black and slick), dashboard cleaner/protector, leather protector, microfiber towels, tons of sponges...

Honestly, no brained to try the Magic 101 set. You get to try 5 products at only RM2X with free shipping! You can never find such a deal anywhere else.
*
Abit confuse.. So you total use 2 stuff.. 1. Turtle wax and wash 2. MEZX wax. I have magic101 wash shampoo which purchase quite a time.. Currently paint still new, 2month car..

same advise i offered on the other thread:
if want super cheap but reputable product, i would highly suggest local osren, or turtle wax if you want USA smile.gif
those rm20+ turtle wax hard shell paste wax is still one of the best basic wax around, albeit a bitch to buff, and a night mare if they get on to plastic trims laugh.gif
zip wax is still the go to cheapskate wash and wax shampoo i use, at rm20+ for almost 2 liter, and i only get them during promotion (where they sometimes bundle another small bottle 1 liter along for free lol), and you only use a few cap fulls during a wash... fuck i still got like 2 bottles (impulse buy lol!) still wrapped in sealed plastic while my first bottle i bought N years ago still havent finish.

hows that for cheap huh?
*
So you using turtle wax and wash Is 1 product with 2in1 function. Turtle wax hard Shell is another product? Your forum thread? Seems cant found

I saw your inspira water bead using bsd plus ulw... now u still using this combo?

turtle wax = brand
wash and wax = product
hard shell paste wax = product

wash and wax = car shampoo + minor wax that can last between 1-2 weeks +
hardshell paste wax, easily 1-2 months, and you get the traditional buttery wax feel.
it is literally a traditional wax lol

thread= inspira thread.

yes i am still "using" ULW/BSD combo.
i actually have added dodo juice into the layer as well as per my 2015 mega detailing endeavour.
the gloss and shine / wax effect/water bead/sheet etc is just... phenomenal.
*
The turtle wax brand good? Value for money? The wax got liquid and paste type equally same?
ULW / BSD how much for each? Where you get Ya? What is dodo juice..

how much? i wondering to buy this or turtle wax car shampoo and wax
QUOTE(imbibug @ Dec 28 2015, 01:45 PM)
The proper steps are to wash, clay, polish, wax(or sealant or any other lsp). Some products are 2 in1 which will polish-wax for example.
http://www.wikihow.com/Do-External-Car-Detailing-Properly

Waxing improperly won't damage the paint unless the applicator is dirty and you grind some dirt into the clearcoat and create some swirls/scratches.

If you can't park/clean under shade, you might want to check that your car care products work well even in direct sunlight and your car's will be warm/hot while you are polishing/waxing.

Even cheap products like TW work well if you have the time to clean/wax your car every week or every other week.
*
thanks for the info..haha i clean it every 2 week, but now 3rd week... no time

if bumper is painted like the rest of the body can apply wax and compound/ polish like normal  biggrin.gif
*
It's painted like other body.. I heard some say don't use on plastic like grill? So it's OK to use on plastic as well? I did get turtle hardshell wax liquid type and car wash.. Car wash I don't really see any difference.. The wax not bad.. But seems like don't have anything to buff.. I apply on line motion.. How can I know if I apply the wax successful and works like it should? I dint apply my bumper, only my door, hood, roof and bonnet lol

Waxes are applied on painted surface  smile.gif plastic trims/ rubber/ grill uses different products  biggrin.gif
General procedure is wash-> clay -> paint correction (optional ) -> LSP (wax)
Usually for me i apply wax in circular motion to ensure better coverage and prevent over apply  laugh.gif
After you apply your wax you will see it became a hazy layer, you can do the swipe test ( use your finger swipe the hazy layer if it shows clear paint without any streaking or smearing means you can buff it off already), then wipe off using a clean MF towel  flex.gif
I am still learning as well  laugh.gif

here's more details if you are interested  biggrin.gif
http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showt...-The-Swipe-Test
*
Painted area? Grill also consider painted rite? Platinum paint? Bumper is painted area as well.. Abit confuse..
Where to get clay bar? Seems can't find it.. Is it possible to use claybar with car wash shampoo?
If over apply what different for wax? I did try to wait over half n hr, I don't see any hazy surface.. Only those over apply I wipe off.. I did see a YouTube video for my liquid wax, the person say no buff off needed.. Weird..

Happy new year everyone!

Just got myself (for my SO actually) a new car.

Is it enough if i just wax it without polishing? Will it remove the original protective layer?
*
yes if your paint is new. polishing is just for those who have scratches or bad cosmetic appearance

Those turtle wax hard paste liquid wax can last how long? Few month or 12 month as advertised? If I waxed once per month, will it have a few layer or only 1 layer? Cz previous wax will cause new layer to wash out?
