Hi guys.

I have a 2 weeks old Myvi Glittering Silver. Honestly, I have no knowledge on car care/detailing therefore I hope some sifus/otais here can help me out. I used to drive a '96 Wira Jade Green and the way I wash it? Sponge and car wash liquid from Giant rclxm9.gif and I use the same sponge for the whole car until it koyak into million pieces.

I wanna treat my Myvi different haha. So far I only washed it once with some Magic 101 liquid and some cheap micro-fibre cloths from Mr. DIY topped with some Getf1 tyre wax. Initially my plan was to go for a deal from 11Street that offers Ion coating, 9H glass coating etc.. for RM500 at 88 Auto Spa. But after reading a few forums about all these cheap deals for car detailing, I think I better not take up those deals to avoid getting scratches on my car or kena 'con' by them, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw here are some question(sssss)
1. Must we dispose the micro-fibre cloths every time after wash? I remember reading somewhere saying that dirt/sand/small stone will get stuck in the cloth and it WILL cause scratched and swirl marks on your car.
2. Does the wash liquid really matter? Whats the difference between Giant branded liquid and those branded ones? If yes, please recommend me something GOOD ENOUGH but not too pricey.
3. Im planning to apply water repellent on all my windows, F & R windscreen. Do I have to remove the water marks before I do so? If yes, how should I do it and what products to use for the water repellent, water mark remover, cloth & etc.
4. Wax. To me its like a whole new world to me. Its like when I just started to discover *ahem ahem* rclxms.gif Turtle wax? Soft99? Megs?

Sila maafkan saya abang2 sekalian. Hope some of you have the mood to read a long message hehe.

Cheers LYN.

Best Regards,
Bryan

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the suggestions. rclxms.gif

Last thursday I've bought a bottle of Turtle Wax Zip Wax Car Wash, Turtle Wax Express Shine spray wax & a bottle of RainX with a couple of Daiso Microfiber cloths and a cheap washmitt from Eneos (Bo lui, what to do cry.gif ).

I found out that the Zip Wax wash liquid feels watery & foamless. Im not sure whether it was meant to be like that or I mixed it with a wrong ratio. BTW this is how I did my first wash of my new Vi.

1. Wash & Rinse with ONLY water and a new microfiber cloth due to the thickness of the dirt on my car
2. Wash with Turtle Wax Zip Wax Car Wash liquid, rinse thoroughly and dried with a new microfiber towel.
3. Wax with Turtle Wax Express Shine. Im not sure Im doing it right rclxub.gif . According to the instructions behind the bottle, all I got to it is spray and wipe off (?). Thats what I did and the car did get a little shinier, but I dont see any effect with water after I apply it to my car icon_question.gif
4. Cleaned all windows, F & R windscreen, & side mirrors with non-alcohol wet tissue, wipe dry and applied 2 coats of RainX with kitchen towel. 1st coat dint have any effect after a 15 minute 'bake'. 2nd coat I left it there for half and hour before wiping it off.
5. Left the tyres dry and applied tyre wax from Tupps. (Just happen to have a half bottle in my store room LOL)

Overall it was a good experience but SUPER tiring. All and all plus interior wiping and vacuum took me almost 5 hours.

AND THEN.. I found scratches on my car... cry.gif cry.gif especially on my rear wing (Myvi 1.5 SE btw). The left part of the wing is like totally scratched and full with swirl marks! Im not sure how'd it happen though sad.gif. Anyway to remove it? Should I try the Turtle Wax Scratch & Swirl remover? ANNNNDDDDD there is a freaking scratch mark on my windscreen. I checked the wiper and it looks fine. Could it be the paper towels? The scratch looks like a perfect arc though, the only cause that I can think of is my wipers? Sigh.. Any way to DIY remove scratches from windscreen?

Thanks again guys smile.gif
