Hey guys, some question. I'm currently own a black pearl colour car, and it's only 2 months old. Recently I found lots of hair line scratches on it. Anyway to prevent and remove it? I heard that there are some detailing shop that give mirror effect of coating in kota damansara and it cost around 2k plus for a sedan car, kind of expressive thou, is it really worth? And I wanna know If there's any diy way, it will be good... Appreciate.

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jan 11 2015, 10:02 PM) What is your understanding of 'nano coating'? few layers of coating which form of glass-like material that manage to prevent minimal but not heavy impact like stone chips, also act as layer of water repellent to prevent water marks... correct me if i'm wrong. been seeing people doing it which cost about 2k with using only some special liquid base with wipe over and air drying it without direct expose to the hot sun so was thought of can have something similar to it's effect which we can DIY ourself? found there's a product called Mr. Nano, but no much comment about it but most of it are the sales talk... QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jan 13 2015, 09:26 PM) None of the above. It's basically a super-durable wax/sealant which can't even prevent scratches from 'bangla' wash. Yup....that's about it....apply, level it (by removing excess), then let dry. But I find that the hot sun would be able to cure it faster.... Yup, there are coatings that you can DIY. It's actually NOT as easy as I wrote above . There's a bit of a learning curve on the proper application....not to mention you'd need to get rid of all those swirls and other defects on the paint BEFORE you apply the coating on - which is the most difficult and time consuming part of the whole thing. If you can see those holograms then better send your car to a pro....unless you're willing to spend maybe a few days to a few weeks (depending on how severe is the hologram and how big is your car) doing it yourself. If you do, come back and I can try to guide you as much as I possibly could on how to do it yourself...by hand.... one of the biggest mistake was to let the car dealer sent my car to wash before they pass the car to me, and after 1 week i got the car, only i notice there are hair line scratches, swirl and so on... and after 2 months drive, thanks for those MRT work, stone chips pulak not to forget, black color... aduhhhhh
