QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Sep 23 2014, 07:28 PM) to be honest i think most, if not all of us are very open here. +1 If we're brand specific we'd only go to Optimum Forums, Meguiars Forums, etc... People start with Turtle Wax / Meguiars / etc because it's readily available over the counter in Malaysia, incl myself. I'm sure lots of forum sleepers or newbies like me come to these forums and learn the products and techniques from all you folks - professionals and weekend warriors alike. So keep the feedback and advice flowing QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Sep 23 2014, 07:40 PM) i'm just lazy la, lazy is not good At least it's not your name

(ps: oh....and I edited a little mistake on the last character there....should be "人" instead of "天"...my bad) Aha....Choose NanoTech CeramicPro 9H. Got it from a seller/marketeer who came by the car wash below my office a while back. RM230/50ml bottle. Try calling him up again to get the sealant but the number is already out of service. It's quite an ok coating....comparable to CQuartz but just a little bit easier to apply but not as easy as DDJ IS. Got it past the 6 months mark before heavy watermarks started to develop (not washing off) and contaminants started to stick onto it. Beading was still there when I tried cleaning the watermarks up with some Megs WB then it just went totally flat. I'd say it's one of those 2yrs ceramic coatings type...quite durable in our weather with 'normal' washing every week...but need to watch out for water spots. I think it would be much better if your friend can also get their Nano Coat (which is the sealant) put on top of the coating....should be able to minimise damages caused by waterspots. Permanent eh? Well...I've read their fb descriptions....3yrs....5yrs...and lifetime warranty. I'm guessing those warranty comes in maintenance packages whereby you'd need to strictly adhered to. I wonder whether the detailing centre itself would even be running for that long.... This post has been edited by KrisMas: Sep 24 2014, 02:11 PM

But thanks to that, I now use their suede cloth method for Opti-Coat application.

errr, hi guys, need your help/opinion here.. today i did an engine bay wash again, on my family car AE101. the engine is like this: after the final rinsing, i used 2 hair dryer to blow dry. after like 10-15mins of blowing, it seems like everything is dried already. so i proceed to start the engine. engine start-up fine, no problem. so i just let it run for 5-10 mins like that to warm up the engine. BUT to my horror after like 5-6 mins of normal running, the engine shuts off by itself! and i've been unable to restart my engine since any ideas which part possibly needs engine running 5 mins (vibration, etc) for the water to ingress??? after the success of the first time engine wash on the other car, today is a disaster for me any help/advice/opinion is very much appreciated.

Because mine was CQ UK.

My advice is open it up (usually 2 screw), CHECK is there any WAP air inside...you may spotted corrosion in it Clean them up with a screw driver.....and mist the whole cap inner part with WD40 and screw it back..... * TRY NOT TO unplug the plug cable from the cap when you remove to avoid you mess up the sequence....

Also WB is acidic cleaner which is not environment friendly, corrosive and also might kill your surface coating if long term of using it.... I've been stopped using WB and the balance now only dilute to between 1:10 - 1:20 for a very mild cleaning job (If really only needed).... Rest i will just wash with shampoo....weekly

And yes, tar removers are normally 'oily' cuz they generally contain solvent/petroleum distillate with some 'oily' carrier to keep them from flashing/drying too fast.
