imho this stuff looks like just a glaze to hide the damage...sealants, waxes and coatings will do the same...

Even with real coating water mark and dirt film will still build up and for liquid product there is always a life span for the chemical.

be very careful with wet sanding especially you do not know how serious damage is your current paintwork + the sanding work you are carrying out. Even paintshop do not perform so many round of sanding unless its fresh thick paint...

If you wanna achieve this effect, apply a layer of lotion, oil you will get the result.

The video doesn't show the sheeting or water beading after applied nor washing...and to me the gloss is just not there

good lunch with black or white car...most difficult colour to take care, metalic generally better....frequency of washing is one thing, where is the surface expose to is crutial..e.g park under sunlight or moonlight or open air to moisture or rain....then you need extra protection on top of coating...

roof, both bonnet is the 'most easiest' damage surface as there expose the most to sunlight and moisture especially if they being repainted with low quality paint.

From the image you posted, i would consider there are already beyond repair as your clear coat already totally gone...one way to find out is swipe with your hand and if there is 'flakes' coming out mean its fully gone...

only way is to TOTALLY remove them then repaint with a GOOD coat of paintwork...if just simply 'add-on' another layer...same thing will happen again in time....especially front bonnet where engine heat kill them alot after...

i guess it depends on surface preparation, how much car shampoo is used for every wash and how the car is kept everyday.

I would bet that those 'promoters' haven't really tested their waxes in our country/region/climate. But, saying that, most waxes would/could last for one year...if the car is parked in a showroom and never driven out... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

+1

A lot of promoters are locals...but just blindly promote what's written on the tin.

In some parts of the US car wash once a month or longer also can...here?...Hahaha...

Some obsolete products....80% water block & 95% rain hop remaining...promise myself to finish them before buying new stuff...sitting in my box for the last 10-15 years...but the nano coating poison is too strong... laugh.gif

Hate using the water block but like the beading and sheeting...love using the rain hop but hate the water spots...

What obsolete stuff you guys still have?

I can see the Soft99 brought from Brothers. I have Meg's ColorX brought more than 10 years ago and it turn to be watery. Have to throw it away. Color X used to be one of the top product then.

Coming back...I've not used these 1 year version of fusso wax. Fusso is 20+ years old and went through a few updates. It was a good wax/coat...and the newer versions looks to continue. I've been away so I'm not really certain if RM100'ish is a good price.

It doesn't matter if it lasts a year or not. The wax/coating gets dirty overtime with embedded dirt and needs a deep cleaning or polishing...it is especially visible on white. For black and dark cars swirls become apparent and needs a new coat to hide even if there's wax left. So the wax may stay on beading or sheeting for a year is not really important.

For me I like to see different looks and rotate my waxes and layers frequently. So as long as it last a month or two that's fine.

So if you've not had a paste wax in your box...there's no harm trying.

3 weeks ago...meta-clean polish
2 weeks ago...water-block polish, this has fusso stuff
1 week ago...QD
Every week wash twice
Today...QD & rain-hop wax

MF from today's QD...one quadrant not used for comparison...daily drive park indoors...Attached Image

Why 1 year wax not really important in reality

Sorry guys for interrupting. Today I just bought my car some product. I had the normal car shampoo and a P&G wonder clay (medium) version. Now my problem is I don't know what kind of material I need to wash my car. The microfiber at the auto section is quite expensive. Do normal microfiber work for washing the car. Do tesco had any of this material that is cheaper compare to those that are meant for auto use.
