Check their comparison chart. https://www.chemicalguys.com/category_s/296.htm

I have 3 of their shampoo, some have strong cleaning power e.g stripping off wax.

Anyone purchase any products from Autogeek.net before?

Any taxes involved when it arrives in Malaysia?

Can't stand the price of M205 here after seeing the price listed on Autogeek/Amazon.

You might want to try autogeek local (MY).

From my past experience, Soft99 quite good to hide the scratches & swirl instead of remove.... doh.gif

Hey ePrince!

I can safe to say, the Swirl X have removed the Swirls.
I still have minor scratches but that is fine.

I may be planning for the DA next to take my detailing to the next level.

Detailing 2 cars by hand is absolute killer sad.gif

Guys, I haven been using Bosch ROB for AIO and wax. Sometime the humming sound can be heard loudly from the car panel. May I know what causing this? Skill ? Angle of the pad? Pressure?

Yes i agree, by hand is pita, however, for someone like me who decided to polish by da polisher (yesterday was first time handling), my hand hurts like mad today from all the vibration! Soring like nobody's business.

Sometimes if I'm not confident, I inspect by a diluted IPA wipe down, just to make sure swirls are properly polished

I would say it's common, kepoh tengok orang detail near my office and some cars do produce sound. My adaptive theory is the transfer of vibration from the polisher to the metal that produces sound, like how sounds are produced.

I did that by hand. Used a sponge applicator to do it.
Again, small sections at a time and small circular motion.

The most swirls were the bonnet, took me 2 passes to get to a satisfactory level.
I believe there's more to it but there's only so much pressure or "cut" you can apply by hand.
With a DA and proper padding, I believe it'll cut the surface even more getting the gloss free desired results.

I don't have ultimate polish unfortunately biggrin.gif

The Swirl X itself acts as a polish!

I just applied Black Wax after I was done with the Swirl X.

I have experience with ultimate polish, by hand and da polisher.
By hand, with some elbow grease, paired with yellow applicator sponge, does nothing....more like utilising its fillers for scratches... With microfiber hand polisher pad, does a little removal of light scratches.

With da polisher, on finishing black pad, gives good finishing after ultimate compound.

Also, it really brings shine to dark colored cars.

@douglas_tong, any recommendation for a DA polisher?

Meg's DA is selling for 2.5k @ Motormad sad.gif

Otherwise, I was only thinking of going the Meg's DA Power System (the plug to drill setup).

The Osren's Ultramate DA is a good machine to start with. Priced around RM700/800

Could be over pressure applied OR

2nd could be your ROB's stator dying...i got mine replaced recently...cost me around Rm90 i think...it was fully functioning,, found out when i buying the housing o-ring replacement...the technician told/show me the plastic holding the cooper wire is broken...(wear and tear from heat) so sooner or later the wire touche the magnet the unit will jam.

I got myself a da polisher from Osren too, shared not too long ago. It is not the ultramate version though. Osren currently have 2 line ups of da polisher. One with 9mm throw and the other with 15mm throw.

Ultramate will be revised to RM750 after cny and the 15mm throw is priced at RM950.
Ultramate tend to be noisier and produce more vibration compared to the latter one. I spent a total of RM 1200 for 1 da polisher and 3 pads.

I think it wouldn't be over pressure. I was using black finishing pad, if over pressure, the machine stop rotating.
My unit is only one month old, possible to get the stator KO so fast?

if you could stop the ROB spinning while power ON that is by force ed doh.gif ....over pressure as in you struggle the pad or the ROB...an easy way to find out is the surface heat generated as well from the unit and condition of your pad.

Stator take time to break down....mine also very light and low usage..but the plastic just harden and start tearing away after sometime

Today's scratch removal project completed.

Cost - second hand rotary buffer RM100, new sponge buffing pad RM20, 1000-grit sandpaper RM0.80, Turtle Wax Color Cure Plus RM45, Tesco applicator sponge RM2. Old microfiber cloths & girlfriend's Mantis Scratch Remover FREE! Total cost RM167 plus change.

My hood got keyed real good. Long winding gash about 1 metre long and it's been a royal eyesore.

Attached Image

The gash dug halfway thru the clearcoat. Can feel it with my fingernails, so need sandpaper to sand down the clearcoat.

Attached Image

Sanding down. Check out that winding gash! Whoever did this was a real sohai. Need water spray to lube the sandpaper.

Attached Image

3 hours later.. ta-daaa! I felt like Tool Time Tim.

Attached Image

Cast of honour. Star of the show, the second hand China rotary buffer and matching el cheapo sponge buffing pad from Chinaman hardware store. Dishonorably discharged - Turtlewax Polishing Compound. Farking useless.

Attached Image

Lessons learned:

1) Turtlewax Polishing Compound wasn't up to the job. Not abrasive enough, took bloody forever to polish out the scratch.

2) Mantis Scratch Remover is shit on its own, but if you use it with a rotary buffer... hell yeah!

3) El cheapo second hand China rotary buffer will do the job, instead of the more expensive dual action polisher.
