I would bet that those 'promoters' haven't really tested their waxes in our country/region/climate. But, saying that, most waxes would/could last for one year...if the car is parked in a showroom and never driven out... tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

+1

A lot of promoters are locals...but just blindly promote what's written on the tin.

In some parts of the US car wash once a month or longer also can...here?...Hahaha...

Guys recently in Facebook keep see soft 99 fusso wax or f7 keep promote is it good ? And really the wax can up to one year ( which mean just wipe on time) or the usage can use up to one year ??
*
Coming back...I've not used these 1 year version of fusso wax. Fusso is 20+ years old and went through a few updates. It was a good wax/coat...and the newer versions looks to continue. I've been away so I'm not really certain if RM100'ish is a good price.

It doesn't matter if it lasts a year or not. The wax/coating gets dirty overtime with embedded dirt and needs a deep cleaning or polishing...it is especially visible on white. For black and dark cars swirls become apparent and needs a new coat to hide even if there's wax left. So the wax may stay on beading or sheeting for a year is not really important.

For me I like to see different looks and rotate my waxes and layers frequently. So as long as it last a month or two that's fine.

So if you've not had a paste wax in your box...there's no harm trying.

3 weeks ago...meta-clean polish
2 weeks ago...water-block polish, this has fusso stuff
1 week ago...QD
Every week wash twice
Today...QD & rain-hop wax

MF from today's QD...one quadrant not used for comparison...daily drive park indoors...Attached Image

Why 1 year wax not really important in reality

Bought degreaser and had it diluted at 1:10 rate.

Thought it is safe for aloi and clear coat since it is claimed as so , but turns out my rim had its clear coat stripped. Anyone encounter this before? It's frustrating.

=.=
*
are you sure?...i don't expect it would...even paint remover gotta use full strength...post a picture pls...

perhaps it removed all the polish, wax, oil, etc...and you are seeing the marring of the clear coat...let it dry, polish it and it will be good as new...

I don't coat my rims with anything so perhaps I could be wrong.  I wash it weekly with car shampoo and had no problem.

yup...did you try a cleaner wax on it? try a small spot first for a confidence boost...believe it should clear up after buffing...

hmm i do not have any cleaner wax. Usually I would just take the extra steps in polishing with a jewel polish (meguiars ultimate polish), wipe down with IPA and apply sealant.

Or would any LSP do? I shall soon have an AIO product in my arsenal : carpro essence.
or do you have any recommendations?
*
well...use your meguiars...as long as it has chemical and mechanical cleaners should do...

do not use lsp

Ok... Been lurking around car care and detailing forum for a while. Am not new to detailing but I've never commented here. Most of my comments were on autoworld which I think now is inactive.

Anyway, long story short, got a new car recently - pearl white. Yes, it is pretty hard to maintain as I've owned a pearl white before with the same brand.

Previously did pps which am not too amaze. Just that the 'investment' were of acceptable level for me that time (I think it was rm700+) but when I asked for a quote now, it's rm1200+!

Anyway, didn't want to spend that sort of money, thus invested in the new Meguiars coating m18802. Had some free time last weekend and did a complete coating on the new car.

Tried to keep the car from rain but only manage to do it for 2 days sad.gif

Anyhow, I only wiped dry the car (with fresh shower of water) after the rain and after 5 days, I must say I'm pretty impress with the Meguiars coating! Still looked like it's fresh coating and dust hardly stick to it. Of course am comparing with previous 'coating' like M16, DG 105, even cleaner wax like Mother's etc.

Well, might be too early to say but am quite satisfied so far...

Will update from time to time.

Hi. I'm getting a white too...Ya they need more tlc...

Haven't decided what to do yet...coat or wax...BTW where did you get the m188 and how much is it? Thanks.

*Assuming* the price range (product only) is around RM400. You can opt for IGL Coating, 22ple or Osren's (of which I haven't tried yet). If DIY, I would suggest 22ple VX1 or VX3 simply because it's more user friendly and easier learning curve to apply and wipe off. Not sure if they're still available to purchase locally though.... tongue.gif Believe you me, if you think M188 is good, then you'll be blown away with 22ple.....hahahaha....

Sifu...any of these coatings can top with wax/UQW?

Just bought some new MF from tesco. The wash mitt (dreadlocks style one side MF another side) may I know how do I wash my car without scratching it. Because I have my first inspection of my car for the first time. Really up close and I was shock that I found some micro scale of scratch marks around my car. But at a distance I was impress by the gloss hahaha. Now i become more picky on what material to wash my cars. I don't have any stain marks but I do have some micro scratches here and there 😢😢😢. I quite loyal to PG products. Btw what is QD QD ? Stands for PG quick detailer ?
*
Lots of car wash videos on YouTube...one bucket, two buckets, etc. Pick one you like. QD used to refer to meguiars quick detailer but I think now is common...

Collected my white ride two days ago...after 1 day feel like washing already sad.gif but refrained to test how much I can tahan...didn't have to wait long laugh.gif

Dealer had it detailed. ..cheap AIO or glaze...one wash today it's gone. Still a bit hazy a final finish should fix it up...comes with factory installed peels, very minor swirls, some water mark etching, etc. I think I won't correct them for now.

Decided to stick to wax for the time being. Perhaps even a sealant/wax. I'm thinking coating may be more suitable for folks who just wanna wash...I like to touch my car more often...try different things...so waxing it is.
