Is it common for Poker II aluminium casing to cost around that much? Planning to get one in the future but not too sure where to start.
*
Nope, only FMJ hard anodized version cost that much.
Group buy from CN is 1500rmb last time.

Yeah, I know. It's like GON right?
Bottom RGB but top is standard LEDs?
But got zonal lighting and reactive lighting?
*
Yea similar, but only one row of smd rgb leds.
have 5 led modes iinm, for the keys lighting.
the RGB is optional actually, if u want RGBs to be controllable just need to add another atmel chip when order.
to get brighter light effect u can add extra rgb strip by yourself.

Topre user has limited option on keycaps. Most of the time, they just stick with the stocked keycaps.
Even Topre corp no longer manufactured new keycaps.

If you looking for cherry mx, then this kind of color scheme is called "beige".
Keycaps makers like imsto, gmk, bsp have this kind of color scheme.

I can say this color scheme keycaps more expensive than Filco keyboard.

Note: A decent keyboard + decent keycaps set always expensive than a Topre keyboard. smile.gif
*
There's an much cheaper alternative for beige set but blue font, taihao olivetti icon_rolleyes.gif .
Or try luck buy some old cherry keycaps with random condition sweat.gif .

Depends on material and design, acrylic case generally doesn't cost expensive unless it is thick acrylic with cnc milling.

Do you know how to turn off the stupid layer LED?
I can't read Korean

I figured out how to turn off the side LEDs but the flashing thing on the Caps Lock, IDK
The LED on capslock blink every 3s to indicate which layer u are currently at.
Blink once = layer1, blink twice = layer2, etc;
No way to turn off the led if u are using 02d keymapper, unless u desolder it laugh.gif .
Not sure if tmk firmware can do the keymapping for viper without making the led blinks.

You have the tmk firmware for viper or by any chance knows how to make the led blink to indicate which layer?
I'm still lost at trying to figure out how to make led indicator for layer indicator.  sad.gif
*
Don't have, the one i saw before is available for lightsaver in the "Post your lightsaver" thread at geekhack media section.
So dunno can use that one for keymapping viper or not.

I pulled a key, and seems like a stabilizer got dislodged. Need to desolder the whole thing to see what's wrong.
Such a nice keyboard case. Sayanglah.
Desoldered the LED. Problem solved.
Bad firmware design. It has a mode to turn off all the LEDs except this one. Wtf.
*
If just blinks when toggle layers is more appropriate instead of keep blinking every 3s, hope 02d will update new firmware for this sooner.
You can try cut small pcs of toothpick or something that can insert the clipping part the of stabs so they will be more firm wink.gif

Not the housing.

I just desoldered the board. The wire dislodged from the housing, causing it to dislodge from the internal moving part. Need to figure out how to fix this with the plate soldered in, maklumlah i using old stabs. Need new stabs to minimize this issue.

This pcb quality is god awful. Solder first time can smell pcb burning. Desoldered the keyboard and some pads are dying, almost lifted.

Can fix with blue wiring but i really would not want that.
EDIT: nevermind. I added some toothpicks behind the stabilizer bars so that they won't be able to move too much. I think this should be what you mean by the toothpick method?
*
Some old stabs the wire clipping part are very loose, so to ensure this dislodge wont happen i always spend at least 30min testing with switch and keycap inserted then pull up several times before i disclose with plate.
Duck's pcb need to take care on temp, saw a lot china forumers spoiled theirs sweat.gif , somemore it is 1.2mm have much flex and need to press the pcb when soldering.
Yup, toothpick ghetto solution to make stabs stay firm a bit laugh.gif .

Pretty stupid decision on the PCB material. This is not a mass manufactured item but a modder's PCB. That means it is meant to be soldered/desoldered multiple times over its lifetime. PCB burning the first time solder is applied is not what I would want to call, good PCB quality. I used 350'C with eutectic solder, the type with silver. The solder pad burns and some of them lifted halfway.

If someone where to desolder this keyboard with full LEDs mounted, good luck. He's gonna burn so many things.

The toothpick is doing its job just fine.

Here's a pict that I managed to take before the sun went down.
Love the case. Makes the keyboard nice and silent. Comparable to an RF silent if I would dare say so.

I think it is about the profit they need for maintaining their site, funding next projects etc.
For that price tag of viper I will accept it anyway doh.gif
Mine doesn't burn, just led soldering parts are slightly frustrated. As the smd resistors and diodes are very close and compact, a finger slipped then ur pcb will get the "white" mark doh.gif .
SS plate really dampen the sounds alot brows.gif
Very nice setup, I want gmk dolch set too but my wallet is always not ready there's a gb/sale for it. icon_question.gif

Out of curiousity, since duck pcb quality is bad, why not spend on other 60% pcb? I find all 60% layout are similar anyway, maybe with few alteration (no no dont get angry sad.gif ). For the price ( around 1k? ), they should provide better quality pcb.
*
similar in size, but not exactly same.
viper pcb has the pre-cut on left and right 1.5x size, so if u plan to put on aftermarket 60% pcb u need to cut it by self to make it fit the housing.
somehow the mounting holes are slightly diff from other 60% iinm.

guise, how to program Duck Viper so that the side LED don't automatically turn on every time?

I read the google translated guide but I still cannot figure it out

I just keep toggle the Side LED mode until it turns off.
