The LED on capslock blink every 3s to indicate which layer u are currently at.
Blink once = layer1, blink twice = layer2, etc;
No way to turn off the led if u are using 02d keymapper, unless u desolder it  laugh.gif .
Not sure if tmk firmware can do the keymapping for viper without making the led blinks.
*
You have the tmk firmware for viper or by any chance knows how to make the led blink to indicate which layer?
I'm still lost at trying to figure out how to make led indicator for layer indicator. sad.gif

I think it is about the profit they need for maintaining their site, funding next projects etc.
For that price tag of viper I will accept it anyway  :x
Mine doesn't burn, just led soldering parts are slightly frustrated. As the smd resistors and diodes are very close and compact, a finger slipped then ur pcb will get the "white" mark  :x .
SS plate really dampen the sounds alot  :hehe:
Very nice setup, I want gmk dolch set too but my wallet is always not ready there's a gb/sale for it.  :help:

Out of curiousity, since duck pcb quality is bad, why not spend on other 60% pcb? I find all 60% layout are similar anyway, maybe with few alteration (no no dont get angry :( ). For the price ( around 1k? ), they should provide better quality pcb.

I'm looking for 62g spring, you know any seller on forum?
Btw for lubing do I need to de-solder the whole board? A bit scare if need solder : (
*
Yep, and if you're afraid of doing soldering work, you can always ask for help from few guys here. And maybe spend on universal plate where you can easily remove switch top housing without desoldering/soldering, incase if you ever plan of modifying the switch again.

Nah, haven't try any mechanical keyboard before. I use macbook air, so just simply search best mechanical keyboard for macbook air and poof matias said "'the best keyboard apple ever made' rises again". Checking out the product page the keyboard does look sleek and complement apple product. But I don't know the usability and wether the noise is to loud or not. I've read alps switch no longer in production right? And matias made its own switch but cloning alps.

What about topre? Hhkb comes to mind since it has dip switch to turn it to mac compatible, simple and beautiful. Much more expensive, but most of hhkb owner seems to love it.

This has answered my question I guess  laugh.gif

I think I'll get myself a TKL in near future then.

60% layout is actually quite good especially when you're taking keyboard to office. Might takes time to get use to it though.
Currently using 65% layout, but have been ditching my arrow keys since using fn + wasd for navigation is much better as I dont have to move my right hand.
As for f1-f12 keys, depending on development apps you're using. If basic software like vim, gedit, notepad++, dont really need those.

got any mechanical keyboarrd but got macro function?
cause i find out mechanical keyboard with LED light
expensive over my budget
*
Nope, its not a must, just a hobby or luxury item
Similar to proton and bmw, both will take you to your destination.

Anyhow AFAIK if you need keyboard with macro, its usually from those gamer focused company like logitech/razer/etc...

Depends, how often will you use the numpad?
If once in a blue moon, why bother having numpad

Most of us here use either TKL or 60% I think. My full size ducky is collecting dust already tongue.gif

1. Does anyone what are the differences between the KBT and iKBC Poker II?

2. Also, if i were to add LED to the board do i get to adjust the brightness level in 5 stages no matter what LED i use?

3. I've seen some pictures where people change the switches stem and spring without desoldering by poking the 2 side holes. To my understanding it only works with PCB mounted boards and not plate mounted boards. What i am confused about is i seen most of the boards with PCB have a metal plate on top. Does this means they are plate mounted? Cause i've also seen plate mounted boards that are hardwired without a PCB. Can somebody clear this up for me.  rclxub.gif
*
1. Taiwan vs China? tongue.gif

2. Should be able to as the voltage is controlled by another chip and resistor

3. If you see anything (metal, acrylic, plastic) holding the switch on top of pcb, yes its plate mounted. Most keyboard use plate mounted design and you can get specially designed plate that allows opening of switches without desoldering from PCB by poking the 2 side holes.

I try my best helps to summarize the details of this pcb group buy.

1. Based on GH60 rev.B pcb design with slight "difference or improvement" as he claimed.
2. Added PTC, short circuit protecttion sort of stuff.
3. Support both mini and micro usb header (so u can choose which one to solder on this pcb)
4. Added side SMD LED points, total 19 of them. Size 0805, have an individual switch for side LEDs On/Off (not sure if it is by hardware/software controlled).
5. The rest are blablabla about future support of bluetooth + lithium battery mountings etc.........

PCB colors are to be determined afterward, either black/white.
Group buy closing date = 25 Nov 2014.
Production takes bout 20days,
Estimated shipping out time is mid of Dec.

*Personal advice: this seller/author is not that reliable, he made some short gb for ss plates (glossy type) but 016 received them in seriously bad condition, scratches everywhere.......

If you want another 60% PCB cheap from china i only know one that at least reliable:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k...._u=l1pvtgcp4d7c
Not sure if he still got any stock left, i can help to ask if u want.
*
Thank you for the explanation smile.gif . Was interested because of the bluetooth support, for juggling between work and home, plus my moody office laptop, randomly disconnecting and reconnecting usb devices. And not really interested with filco minila spacebar layout.

Since the seller is not reliable, i'll wait for the first batch to go first, and see if there's actually a proper bluetooth support for it in the future. Unless hasu/soarer manage to make proper implementation of bluetooth laugh.gif . Better wait than sorry.

For bluetooth support, u can consider gon's nerd 60, the latest version one. although korean pcb are expensive generally, but at least the quality is there.
chinese pcb very depending on the "maker" =_=''

edit: the nerd tkl v2 and mobirk also have bluetooth supports.

With my current salary and upcoming expenditure ( car road tax, insurance, major service), I can only dream. Nerd 60 wireless + 016 gb aluminium case.

put keycaps in a basin, pop in 2 or 3 denture tabs, depending on amount of keycaps and how dirty it is or how much of a clean freak you are.
usually i pop in 2. fill up the basin with water (luke warm or slight warm water is recommended) just enough to cover up the keycaps, you don't want to dilute the denture tabs too much. leave it for 30 minutes or more, or it depends on your dota game or drama series, whichever applies.
rinse with clean water, dry it, make sure it's all dried up before putting back on your keyboard.

Hmm. So is it because it's overpriced? I'm willing to pay for the feature the keyboard provides, (dedicated media keys, USB, good build.) as long as it's gonna last. My Ducky Shine 3 is now having 2 dead LEDs after only 3 months which I'm really unhappy. Plus, I'll be getting slight discounts and free shipping. That's about a little more than 500.
*
Both Ducky and Das will last forever, but you have to keep in mind that there is no guarantee LED will last, on any keyboard. LED can go dead anytime they feel like doing it. Maybe even after 1 day of getting new keyboard. Its all depending on luck

Unless bad firmware/circuit like the infamous Corsair keyboard

I've read about a site name Taobao? Went there and Poker 2 is there. And supposedly the are agents here in Malaysia that can quote the price for us. But when I clicked the link to the list of agents, it shows an error. cry.gif

There's few guys here that can help you get it from taobao, and it is best to get agent in this thread since they know more about keyboard rather than generic agent.

Does custom board allows hardware level keymap to emulate mouse?
AFAIK only possible with teensy, and its a godsend, although no match for trackpoint.

If only tex yoda wasnt that expensive/ im richer / dell latitude trackpoint and keyboard dont suck. mad.gif

I cant decide which keyboard to get  hmm.gif . I have three options here:

1- Pbt Poker 2
2- KBP V60
3- CM Quickfire Rapid i

Or you could suggest one but not Ducky. Price range is not more than 350 cause I'm gonna get a second keyboard
which is the razer blackwidow chroma  icon_idea.gif . I know razer is no good, I just like the looks biggrin.gif

I always move around and will be programming a lot, and the Rapid-i is the biggest size i could manage to carry everywhere.
I'm using dvorak layout at the moment  sweat.gif  (i rearrange my laptop keycap). Are the keyboard listed compatible with dvorak?
*
How important is arrow keys to you? And i think Poker 2 can be use to program dvorak layout
