Really expect BR to shut up shop on transfer with the signing of Balotelli...I am sure we still have money to spend, but wouldn't mind we do some business in January in case we need a bit of freshening up....And the inclusion of Balo, my hope is that Borini stay with us for 1 more season, as they are teammates in the national squad, would be intriguing to see if they click for Liverpool. Borini after all is still a good young prospect....and if he is wanted by Sunderland for 14million, I think Gus Poyet have seen enough to be willing to shell out that kind of money, without even negotiating the fee.....I'd definitely choose Borini over Etoo....

With Moreno in the squad, defensively, we should be more solid and steady this season....with Manquillo on rightback, I expect us to cut out crosses from the flanks, and hopefully SG and Lucas can offer more protection centrally....certainly, we should increase our option in attack - with 2 young fullbacks and 3 back tracking attacking midfielders - Markovic, Lallana and Coutinho....we should press opposition harder and kept the ball in opposition half, which means Lovren need to cut out high balls and close down on counter attacking channel and make crucial interception....

Overall a thoroughly satisfying transfer window, definitely more efficient than Manu at lesser the amount, Moreno> Rojo anytime....

Valdes, well, i m not a fan of his tbh....he come across more of a shot stopper than actually holding onto the ball, yes, he tend to parry the ball...which is a big no-no, furthermore, his delivery isnt as good as Pepe, and not as agile as Casillas, as such he is more of a 3rd choice for Spain. But, at the end of the day, Valdes is more than welcome to liverpool, if indeed it happen, as he is an upgrade from Brad Jones....

Overall, its a pleasing transfer window, where we virtually bought a 'B'team....10 players, and on top the icing - Balotelli....at least to me he is the dessert - given the frantic closing minutes, which we manage to avoid the scramble for a striker....in comparison to Falcao, Welbeck and Etoo...id take Balo anytime, notwithstanding the baggage that he may brought along, but so too Diego Costa, who have a bit of a reputation. but i view Balo as more of being naughty, playful or mischievious than outright cynical...he can be a fly- a nuisance albeit harmless....but mind you, if we manage to turnaround this fella, he'll be more prolific than Suarez, more clinical than Aguero, and more difficult to deal with than Costa....and most important more complete than Sanchez..Dont get me wrong - Falcao is still a player I admire very much, i opine that he is the closest resemblance to Suarez more than anyone else, but at 28, and having just return from a serious injury, its a gamble too big for us to take...as for Welbeck and Etoo...well let just say the former is not known for scoring goals while the latter, I genuinely wonder what is his actual age??

before we got carried away, we haven't won anything...yet..but the satisfaction must be seeing our team being rebuilt over the past 3 seasons under BR..eventho most of us is not sure about the quality of the depth - Markovic, Lallana, Balo and etc...but at least, we don't need a total overhaul, and is looking forward to us signing maybe 1 or 2 world class players over the coming season....Competition is definitely fierce, with each player challenging each other for a place worthy of first 11....certainly it rub off the younger players to rise to the occasion....Can, Ibe and even Origi, our medium term prospect certainly look bright....and unlike a certain team associated with the color red, who boldly announce they are challenging for top 3 this season, I think its a declaration too early..even for the optimist....well, I could be wrong, maybe they can do it...but the pressure on their players and manager will be tremendous....which will not translate favorably on the pitch..i personally felt that the last thing they need is to raise expectation...not that I care....but the similarity with us, when we had our own troubled years - buying your way out - with striking resemblance..eeerriee, but not that I care, cant wait for their spending spree to haunt them..for a long long time

I think the decline of Gerard for the past 3 season is becoming more evident..take the match against Villa, our captain is a bit too slow, a lil bit wrong position, and a lil bit hard pressed by agbonlahor throughout the match...while against ludogoret...he is terribly out of position and too slow to cover the midfield...granted mignolet did a howler...as I dont see the need to rush out..as the last man is more or less closing the angle for a shot...but to me it was Gerard who left the sakho terribly exposed...in fact i personally reckon that the much maligned Lucas can do a better job than Gerro...sad to say, but i think its true....I dont see Gerard challenging for opposition target man, nor closing down 1st sign of danger in our half...at all...i am not being critical, our captain's contribution is well documented and unquestionable..but in this case, i wuld blame the manager for not managing him well enough....BR will need to sort this quickly or risk putting SG reputation into further jeopardy....and also do note that Xavi is getting lesser game time at Barca, 1) due to age 2) succession and 3) to preserve the freshness....the way Barca is managing it, sorta thick all the boxes....for a high and intense pressing team like ours...I dont see how SG can manage 2 -3 games per week...even 1 game per week could be asking a lot...whether SG will flourish on the right side, my take is that its kinda humiliating to shove our captain left, right and centre, just to accomodate him....would prefer to use him more sparingly than being neither here not there..dont you think
