why dont LYN make this feature? when the mouse fly over the topic there will be some preview shown. this is a nice and useful feature that can be implemented.

Its not flyover...its mouseover..

Its not nesessarily for me to have that function...
But sometimes i think its annoying if it keeps blocking the other topics...

If its a must have, atleast make it longer like 3sec only popup..

The preview in the screenshot you showed used the TITLE attribute - which means that we'd have to embed the post preview in every thread link. The cost of this is:

1) An increase in page size by about 5% (assuming 30 topics per page and 200 characters of preview for each topic)
2) An increase in database load (as each topic's first post has to be read as well)

I can see the utility behind this, but at the same time, the topic title + topic description is supposed to communicate the topic purpose when used correctly. So, do you think this proposed topic preview is redundant?

the topic description dont serve any function in this spammer filled community. i believe with this function, spamming can be reduced drastically. spam thread and useless topics itself are already redundant as you can see.

we did have this function before however it does increase the load on the database, as well as unnecessarily transfer more content to the user.

There are a lot of nice features available, but in order to keep the forum clean and speedy, we can't implement them.

spammers already dont bother checking the forums if there are duplicate threads, what makes you think they will bother reading the mouseover text?
