Decided to go mobile but i need some comments. Looking for a gamer's laptop that can support WoW, including the 40man raids. Gaming requirements > All Multimedia Requirements after all. Heh heh.
So u guys got any suggestions for a smooth laptop? The brand and the specs? I know i got a good PC at home for raids, but I am the type of guys that would to have an early morning, log on WoW with vent and go "SNooozzzee, sonofab**** i am awake, coming .. COMING!"
So ... any recommendations? Because sometimes when i go to the House of Notebooks and all that .. its not everyone in Malaysia would understand my requirement needs for WoW. Its like ... the moment u say "Warcraft" .. they say "Oh .. this laptop can support DOTA wan .. confirm la" ... and i go ... "DOTA requirements are f***in' weak -_-"
So .. any ideas?

There are so many choices to choose from .. it depends 2 on your budget as well ... and go do a little research and learn how to super bargain .. get a laptop with decent 3d card and 1 gig of memory should do fine.

some of the Acer series and most notebooks (without built-in Intel EXTREME crap) should be able to support WoW.
heck.. my 4 year old Titanium Powerbook G4 with 667mhz, 768mb ram, 32mb Radeon 7500 can run WoW at low settings... with lag of course...

Things that you might want to look for on these points. Hard Disk Size : 60GB> RAM Size : 1GB > Processor : Intel Mobile Dual Core if possible / AMD Turion 64. Graphic Card : Intel (Yes Intel Works only those 945G would be your best choice but you need at least 2GB RAM ) / ATI Cards Radeon or X Series / Nvidia GeForce Series Try those with Turbo Cache. LCD Screen : 14.1 " - 15.4" if possible The bigger the better. So there you go, the rest on the not book is just common, such as WiFi and 100/1000 Base LAN. I'm planing to get the Asus A8J notebook that comes with Nvidia 7300 GFX on it with Turbo Cache.

I think you should get a notebook with an Intel core duo processor. Every benchmark I've seen shows that it kicks royal arse. Also make sure it has at least 1 gig of memory and a decent GPU. Something like the ATI x1600 mobile or whatever it is they call their notebook graphics cards.
Everything else (HDD space, optical drives, connectors, etc) is up to you. You should have a budget of somewhere around RM 7k. Rest assured, this notebook will be capable of playing more than just WoW...

I'm using a Dell M1210 12.1" widescreen notebook for WOW now. All graphic settings set to highest and using 2x multi-sampling. Everything runs very very smooth in 40p raid and in IF/SW etc. If you wan a big screen Dell's Inspiron 6 and 9 series are good choices (have to upgrade the graphic card, ram, harddisk etc on their website). But for me they weight too much. I had an inprison 8000 b4 (15" screen). It's just too heavy for me to carry around. The M1210 in the other hand is for ppl who travels a lot and dun wan a sour shoulder. Highly recommended. The core 2 duo for M1210 is coming out real soon. check out this thread : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=295957and this review : http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?...PS+M1210+ReviewThis post has been edited by yseng: Sep 3 2006, 02:06 PM

12.1" a bit too small for WoW, with ctraid on , u hardly can see your character. dont settle for Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 950 , this video graphic is only at par with fx5200 or less. Take a look at http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2427&p=1. Reason is, Warhammer online and LOTRO is coming out next year, and you dont want your laptop to obselete in less than a year dont you? I'd suggest 14-15.1" screen <2.5kg =>1gb ram ATI 1400 vga is ok

No offence to all the ATI supporters out there, Nvidia seriously have the advantage with World of Warcraft.
Also I see those people who complain about their game lagging usually have system RAM below 1GB.

Currently using Acer ferari with 1gb ram. Runnin wow in raid beautifully with no lag whatsover. Although i might suggest you go with dell for the XPS. That one is not bad.

Been using Asus A6 for a couple of months. No regrets there. But for 2k I doubt that you can find a wow capable laptop.
