In competitive q3, there has been only 1 "ruleset" (to use your words), and thats OSP.
CPMA is popular but hasn't been used at a high profile tourney yet. Now its gamemode of choice for the CPL |

yup. since the days of Razer CPL, Babbages, OSP has always been used for tournies.

just use cpma, osp. no need to add MOD. and by classic quake, i think he meant qw-style, which is close to cpma |
