OP, I'm a newbie lifter at about the same deadlift weight as yourself. Scraping your shin is normal as you want to keep the bar as close as possible to your body on the way up. Ask any experienced deadlifter to show you their shin battlescars smile.gif

If you hate the idea of bleeding all over the bar, wear a pair of football socks or a couple layers of shinguard. These will help minimize the damage somewhat. Hope this helps
