Okay, my bad. I got the dates wrong. But really, I had lag-free games on the 24th. The only reason why you hear about those people getting lag is because nobody talks about not having it. People don't say "I didn't have lag", but rather people love to say "I got lag, wtf volvo". So how can you really gauge which side of the coin is the majority?
I have no clue how server maintenance works, but I'm assuming that for a game like Dota 2, even in just the SEA region, it take a long time and a lot of hard work, hence why they have 3 days of limited capacity and 1 day of absolutely no Dota. Maybe the server maintenance extended because someone screwed something up and it cost SEA players a few extra hours of limited capacity. Or maybe they found something or rather than required them to take a few more hours or an extra day to fix.

SO WHAT

You really think that a game as massive as Dota 2, run by ~30 employees for the entire game (including all the other regions), will expect to meet your every whim and fancy. Server maintenance sounds pretty f***ing important, judging by the name. If it takes a bit more time to get it right, might as well be glad that it done and over with rather than moan about "muh lost MMR", cause its going to happen anyway.

Just because we don't see the immediate results of something as ambiguous as "Server Maintenance" doesn't mean it is absolutely useless. Just because Valve took away 4 or even 5 days of your "doto time" without any cosmetics or bug fixes to show for what they did, doesn't mean people can b**** and moan about how they aren't playing the game. I seriously doubt they were sipping their coffee and eating bagels and donuts while it was happening.

And no, I don't agree with the "yo, it's free, deal with it" mentality because you pulled that right out your ass with your hyperbole. What I meant was that just because Valve took away 12 hours of precious "doto time" doesn't mean you can b**** and moan. And I'm saying that the fact that's its free and already such a high quality polished game from what it originally was should be enough for most players to allow Valve a couple of extra hours to do their work. Maybe instead of expecting every single little thing to be delivered to you on a silver platter, you could take a look at the positives and just wait 1 extra day.

Really what you're trying to say is "I deserve the right to bash Valve for taking away 1 day of Dota from me, even though they left this game completely free, bar cosmetics which are totally optional, because they aren't up to the standard and quality of other paid games. Server Maintenance is just a waste of time and should be dealt with ASAP so I can get back to pwning noobs."
Truth is, without Valve, we'd still be stuck in that shithole called G.A.R.E.N.A (seriously, Flying Spaghetti Monster?) running a game released 12 years ago to act as our platform and setting the limitations and capabilities of such game within those same boundaries.

Truth is, Valve didn't ask us to have a $10m prize pool and it was entirely the people's choice. Despite that fact, it doesn't mean that Valve is responsible for every little baby cry the people make. It's like offering someone a cigarette, and then once they've taken their first puff, you demand $20 for the stick.

Truth is, you're free to continue to not play this game cause there's plenty more people willing to play as well.

So just because you bought a bunch of cosmetics, of which nobody forced upon you to do so, you suddenly deserve premium rights. Really, "fucuk logic", cause that mentality really defies it. 1 extra day of server maintenance and limited capacity doesn't undermine and defeat everything else Valve has done. And you buying cosmetics doesn't make you a special entitled snowflake.
Then there's this captain thinking he's so smart to assume that people aren't dumb or proud enough or even smart enough to realize its not Valve's fault, but their shitty internet connection.

Your statements are flawed because you assume everyone else has your spec, your level of "intelligence" and your great internet connection.

But you can't say that. Because not everyone has either or any of those.

Just because you are the one example of someone getting lag despite having great specs, doesn't make the rest of the freaking world face the same problem as you.

Anyways, what are you even trying to prove by saying this? I didn't say there wasn't any server maintenance. I'm saying we should stop being babies and just accept Valve's decisions because honestly, what can we do besides b**** and complain? And what does that even achieve.
