I woke up this morning and told myself, "let be positive, i can do this!"

Loaded my first game, picked ember spirit(my strongest hero after meepo). Then kena ganked by bh mid, 0-2. My 4k teammates went apeshit.
What i felt after getting flamed by my teammates was not anger, but more like depression. I stopped trying. Go ahead i said to myself, these guys think they're smart enough, let them make their own gameplan. Suddenly playing dota felt like watching paint dry.

Screw them all, screw this game!

Most players don't understand the concept of space gained/lost. If your opponent support player rotate to mid, your offlane will gain the space. You offlane should be able to make something out of it.

From my observation, most support don't understand this. I've seen a lot of mindless rotation in pub games. Those moment when you play carry and facepalmed because you support left you before winning the lane to help our midlaner who already won his lane! I bet he watched too many pro-games.

Then, when you you play mid, you get another support who watched too many pro-games. A potm who cant land his arrow camp next to you and leech your xp. A common occasion in pubs where a support actually help other midlaner won his lane. If that's not bad enough our carry are f***ed too because opponent offlaner gained space from that.

Guess what usually happens next, that support will cry "omg i'm supporting noob carry/mid again!"

This is what's happening to me every single day.

Define game :

1) A form of competitive activity or sport played according to rules.

2) an activity that one engages in for amusement.

Depends on what you expect in dota. Some may play for fun , some may play for pride , some do play very seriously in order to go into e-sports.

There is no right or wrong here but if playing a game makes u depress / anger / emo then i think it starts to defeat the purpose of a "game".

Or maybe Dota 2 in not a game.

not really get it , what if let say i m offlane support, and i go to mid lane wanted to gank mid but my mid lane hero died, so should i stay in mid lane leech exp till mid hero come back to mid lane? is that right? unsure.gif

cause i normally do that when mid hero gone to other lane or died

You're doing the right thing. You're not leeching xp from anyone. You took the free space to gain xp.

I'd feel bad too. It's like the saying goes, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Some people just don't seem to comprehend the simplest of things. I cannot understate how infuriated I get when people get ganked in the same fashion over and over again. Some good examples are Furions who solo push when the map is dark, or cliff farm on the same cliff where they got killed twice. It's like they're begging to get killed.

I don't really believe in forced win rates, but sometimes the players I get are just downright disappointing. Even more so when I'm on a favored hero and they just keep throwing bodies at the enemy carry for no good reason. This game can be very demotivating at times.

Bara is my 4th most-played hero. In most of the games I played him, I was on either 3rd or 4th position. He's an early game beast if your allies can take advantage of your aggression.

I once played bara with meka and wards tongue.gif

On much more serious note, 3 man party MMR with friends. Paired with another 2. half way one dc. The other recon-ed but he all-chat and say sorry, line prob, end now then left. leaving 3 of us 5v3. Lose of course. But i really dont get it.

To be honest, Dota is the way of life. It isn't a game anymore. It is a battle field.

The ones who come out on top, will be the ones who are very likely to be successful in life. ( Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little. )

( I'm talking about pub games )

This is my opinion.
Dota is a place where you test your patience.
Dota is a place where you test your limits.
Dota is a place where you can see the evil lurking in every mankind.( trolls/flamers )

I tried to challenge myself to not get pissed off whenever I play the game, telling myself that it is just a game. You are supposed to enjoy a game, not ended up feeling angry, depressed, despair, sad, fed up, irritated, and all those negative feelings.

First few games went okay, I can see past those flamers/pinoys. But after a few games, I gave up.

Stopped playing for a while now since I'm busy with uni and my internet connection sucks when I'm staying near uni. ( can only play when I'm back at my home with unifi )

I will embrace Dota again when I'm ready. Hope I can stand strong after taken a long break.

On a side note, I do agree with what Mushi said.
My vision of the perfect Dota environment is where 5 players team up, communicate and work together to try and bring down the enemy ancient, where 5 players would give constructive feedback to other team mate's mistakes, where 5 players would aim to improve and be better in this game, where all 10 players will enjoy the game.
This will not happen with all those flaming, blaming, raging, throwing going on.

What we should do? change yourself first before you change others. Start by making a difference in yourself and the way you play. Recognize your mistakes, never ever blame someone, never ever talk to people in a bad tone which might make them think that you are flaming them, never return the flame that the other flamers throw at you.

I think we should stop blaming, especially the pinoys. A part of the reason why SEA scene, in my opinion is so toxic, other than the pinoy lan culture, is the others who blame pinoys. You think your insults will reach them when you blame/flame pinoy? You are wrong. They will just simply putang ina mo / bobo and continue the next game while you on the other hand was left with a bad taste due to the bad game that you just had.

/end rant.

tl;dr Enjoy Dota. It is a great game. biggrin.gif
