http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/2d...ou_pretty_cool/ tldw; drivers in japan use hazard light and blink them twice everytime they wanna thank the driver that lets them in
apparently it's the same in some other countries like south korea poland etc
simple notion of gratitude really makes you feel better sometimes. y malaysia no do liddis?

Waving your hand for a "Go on", or "Thank you" won't work if your car windows are wound up tinted heavily. So we let the hazard lights blink twice ?

I've tried the double signal as a sign of thank you. Not sure the other road users can comprehend or not, else they think im just another crazy road user who simply buka double signal lol.

same thought too! haha imagine the car in front or behind terkejut see my hazard/double signal
when i cutting in slowly (with signal lights way before), i usually lift my hand up, put it near the window so that the driver see me giving a signal of thank you. donno he/she can see it or not, but at least i have the conscience to do something

In Malaysias...lorries will assist you to overtake them.... right hand signal means dun overtake, left signal means is safe to overtake.. high beam or horn them while overtaking them to say terima kasih.. when the lorry is behind they will highlight you to say sama-sama.

Been doing it since the video became viral. All these time, only once i've been 'thanked' in letting a car cut in front of me. The rest, none, some even cut without signaling.
But dont abuse the '2x hazard blinks' e.g. out of nowhere u cut into a queue and later ppl honk u like mad and u reply them with that hazard light
