If only we had the same planning for KL!

Btw, is it true that Paris have the most convenient underground system in the world? I remember having to pick one from the 2 stations everytime I step out from a place in Paris depending on the line I'd be taking.

SG proposes three choices for HSR station site.

- Tuas
- Jurong East
- CBD

If build at Tuas, HSR will never be viable.

it also makes a joke that travel from west to east, cross at least 29 stations and takes almost 1 hr time (4x km distance),
kampung, you said it is efficient and an "optimsied design"? from your experience with so many countries and places mrt design? you tell us better we said it clearly here notworthy.gif

In other cities, they have another faster mode of transport aside from MRT which stops at shorter station intervals, which is the express rail.

Paris has the metro (their MRT) and the RER, which is more suitable to travel longer distance around Paris metropolitan area. RER is similar to our KTM Komuter.

Circle line no connection between harbour front to marina bay?? I thought they want to make it into perfect circle.....

Paris are not the best. I will still chose germans ubahn+sbahn+regional train as the best one.

MRT 1 = progressing, so does LRT extension. It seems LRT 3 (Bdr Utama-Klang) is moving.........and maybe the MRT 2. The challenge is that KL is very spread out, hence building MRT alone will not help as it is very expensive, yet population may not be dense enough. Thus, maybe we should also pursue BRT (bus rapid transit).

I also hope to see government can start planning LRT in other cities, particularly Penang, JB, KK and Kuching for example.

Circle Line between Harbourfront and Marina Bay is a certainty, listed as part of LTA long term plan. The exact alignment of this line depends on what are they going to do on the land which is now the Keppel Port, of which its lease will end in few years time.

after viewing the map and from a country defense view, is it too dangerous to sg ? as each station works as bomb shelter will also be a node for targeting.
but who knows, some said sg may dig an underground city to live in the future sweat.gif

If only we had the same planning for KL!

Btw, is it true that Paris have the most convenient underground system in the world? I remember having to pick one from the 2 stations everytime I step out from a place in Paris depending on the line I'd be taking.

You just came out from hibernation!??

KL is slow, but at least something is in the pipeline - MRT Line 1 under construction, Line 2 coming soon; and then there is LRT extension and potentially a new LRT line; last but not least - Sunway BRT.
