Okay I got my axia about like 2 weeks back , booked when they announced that night. A long wait indeed

Axia G

So far I have driven it around , fuel consumption is about 13.4km/l , which is about 7.1l/100km

So far I would say I really love the view of the car , esp when driving as opposed to my Fiesta. The handling of the car is not too bad and it is pretty smooth on stop-go traffic and highway traffic. It just feels nice cruising at 80km/h

For automatic transmission pick up in D is horrible as opposed to my Fiesta. With fiesta you can just zoom away for traffic lights , this one is meh, but putting it in 3rd gear , gives you the umph that you need to overtake another car. However , this car is not meant for driving at high speeds , its just a fun car to drive in city or at highway

Anyone knows how much Perodua charges to replace the Axia G audio set with the one from SE or Advance , honestly I need Bluetooth and USB at least.

well,
i was thinking a the same, but since the radio has FM1 FM2 FM3 (each FM can save up to 6 channels) which is too much..

so i simply use FM1 for my radio, and FM2 for quickly switch to my usb fm modulator..

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

later i will go take picture how i mount them in my car..

I got that already thesun , the modulator and all. I just want to use Bluetooth , so can use handsfree calling and such. I just want to know how much would it be to replace

Also I just tinted the car today , RM 380 , at cool tint setapak

I am also waiting for steering lock and smart tag to be collected from the SA , he promised me but then there were no stock at all smile.gif (when i collected my car)

Your route is city center?

In my opinion, you better of getting Pioneer or Sony headunit that comes with Bluetooth rather than getting the SE one. biggrin.gif Or maybe got owner want to sell and they post it on mudah hehe
*
Highway mostly , but I believe it is not calibrated properly yet. I would have to calculate manually later on to get the millage

I dont mind replacing it with pionner or SONY , but as thesun pointed out , it's more on the warranty purposes. I just dont want to touch the internals or externals during the warranty period

Feedback on Axia Driving

Location : WANGSA Maju to Shah Alam. Mostly 80% on highway (NKVE+ DUKE + Federal) and 20% traffic

Car : Axia G Spec Auto

Driving style : maintain 40km/h on normal roads , 60km/h-80km/h on highways. I don't feel like driving fast on this car compared to my Fiesta

Fuel Consumption/Millage : Just take a look at the picture
Attached Image

Let's take a look at pros and cons

Pros
1. Very spacious. Beats the hell out of my Fiesta. Fiesta has no leg room for people who are sitting behind , but Axia is very spacious. For the price you pay , it is a very good family car. ISOFIX is there (on G model and above)

2. Turning Radius is very good ,- makes it very easy to u-turn

3. Pretty good grip. Not as good as my Fiesta , when it comes to corners. But for the price that you pay , it takes corners pretty good at 60km/h - I would say stable

4. Love the cup holders and what-so-ever inside. Its just nice for people like me who are stuck in slow moving NKVE traffic smile.gif

5. AT has very smooth transmission. My Fiesta transmission is horrible when it comes to stop and go traffic. The car jerks - (like how the first time when someone drives Manual). Good job Perodua

Cons
1. Pickup is terrible , seriously. It's a good city car but when you want to overtake in highways , you don't have the umph. But on the other note , I learned how to drive slowly and cool. Some people may prefer the extra umph. I would say it is more of throttle response

2. Electric Power steering feels slow , sluggish and heavy (its like there is no power steering at all) - It's heavy - but not a major issue here - small car , so it is pretty easy to turn and such

3. Can't adjust the height of the steering wheel (is it an option for higher end Axia ? I don't know but the G spec does not have it and it sucks)

4. Poor Insulation - you can hear the road noise and such at high speeds , but sometimes even at low speeds you can hear them. I guess it is not just insulated properly

5. Loud Engine - once you start driving >80km/h , the engine noise is loud

6. No ABS (for G Spec) - they should have given this and also ESC - Stability control for the higher end. It would be good to have

Conclusion
I say it is worth it for city car. Fuel consumption is superb , the ride is comfortable compared to my Fiesta. It just works. I think Perodua did a pretty good job and it is truly value for money - if you ask me. Cheap and cheerful city car

Just to give you comparison

My Fiesta : I drive around 100-120km/h on highways , min would be 90km/h , normal roads are 40-60km/h

FC : 6.9l/100km , which is around 14.5km/l

Keep in mind , we are talking about NKVE here at times whereby the traffic can get crazy

Nice review. Well, for item #1, just put it like this. If you're used to drive Tier 6 level car in any driving game for quite long, and then, one specific challenge requires you to compete using Tier 1 car; does it considered underpowered? After all, it's the car that you started the game off remember?

Same goes to people who used to ride >250cc and borrow my EX5 for a while and complain "Walao your bike no power meh, response like shit!" I was like shakehead.gif Hehe..

If you need more power (for AT), just floor the pedal a bit more. At least the gearbox is not dumb and react quite quickly. laugh.gif

For lack of insulation, this was expected. During launch day I inspect thoroughly in showroom and noticed few "cost saving" measures done to lower down the sticker price. I can list it all here and rant about it but it's an economical car designed to be economical after all. Heck, I'm surprised the front wiper water nozzle comes in 2 units and the rear plate light also got 2 bulbs. biggrin.gif

And no, there's no steering wheel adjuster even on highest variant.

Thanks. I find it unfair to compare with Fiesta , but on its own it's a pretty good car. I am truly impressed with Axia , for the price that you pay - it seems to be bang for buck (minus some finishing like insulation and all)

I see, im in dilemma whether to get g spec and se. Manual.

Ofcourse need to see if loan approve or not. Haha

Are you a P driver ? Then go for SE. I highly recommend for people who are getting it as their first car or whatever , go for SE. Reason being ABS

Also my car cloaked 18.5l/km and now i am at 300KM , with 4 bars left in the car. Many people wonder how on earth do I get this

- Simple , once the car tachometer reaches 2k rpm , i just depress the accelerator and force the car to switch gears (for automatic). Then continue to press. The problem with this is you drive like at 30-40km/h . I just avoid the meter going 3k and above RPM unless i am overtaking or I have to

- Keep driving the car at constant speeds , it seems to be good at 60-80km/h . In highways , I drive in losers land (aka the slow lane) and just overtake whenever there is lorry and all and continue to drive

These are some tips which may help to improve the mileage of your axia

wow.. tq for the tips..
me too kinda excited to stretch out the mileage for first few tanks..always follow eco mode,
but then i always have passengers..
if drive like a "loser", sure my passenger raise eyebrow, say me cheapskate or dunno how to drive car.. haha..

but anyhow, i am still able to save compared to persona,
with axia, i drive gila gila oso able to stretch to 350km per full tank at rm55.
with persona rm50 highway oso cant reach 300km..

if drive alone sure i will follow ur steps..
thanks again..

Drive alone its worth it , when you are bringing people , you'll have to speed a bit. But I agree the millage of this car is just amazing , I am saving a lot of money driving on the road.

Decent speeds , gets from point a to point b and it's pretty fun to drive

I'm not sure if you even need cadence braking with the advent of ABS and bunch of its advanced derivations.
*
You don't need it , if your car has ABS. But what if yours does not , you would need to know and also in event of ABS system did not function properly. It's good to know

On ABS-equipped cars you dont have to

You have not tried Fiesta , if you think Axia is bad , Fiesta is worst

Back seat is comfortable and contains leg room vs my Fiesta . I'll have to disagree with you on that
