The tough solar on a G-Shock is good. Even without sunlight, it'll last for 6 months to 2 years, depending on model and usage.

I'm more concerned about your usage. The G9300 Mudman has VERY hard buttons. It won't be the best stopwatch on a watch.

Hello..thanks alot for replying..
this would be my first gshock and it will stay with me for many years since im not a collector/frequent changer
i tried the watch before but didnt buy it as i was surveying around..
yes i do agree the button is a bit hard..but i think acceptable for me..

do u own this model?

somehow i read in other forum that it has issue where the screen goes blank and when it wake up it resets everything

hmm...maybe its just so happen to him only?

Yes I have one. Never had that problem.

Read through the whole thread and it seems like a widespread problem.

Anyway, why the Mudman? Is there a specific function you want? Maybe there is something else we can recommend.

Yes I saw other people in the forum also got this problem..
Not really specific function..
I wanted to find a watch that would last me for years.. Those colorful gshock might not be suitable for my daily use.. And since I use stopwatch quite often, a digital one would suit me better.. And I wanted to have the tough solar features..

Initially I like the 8900 series but after trying it I feel it doesn't look nice on my wrist.. Hence I saw the g9300 and feel it looks nice and seems tough.. I engage in outdoor activities quite often.. So I think this might suit me well ..

Personal preference ma. You buy what you like and not by people's opinion. Ye la, sometimes the one you like is the ugly one but also majority's opinion is garbage too, when it comes to fashion usually.  If I were you, I'd go for minimalist look.

thanks for your opinion..i understand its all down to personal preference
im just asking for opinion cause im not sure which one i really like better....LOL.. cheers ^^

Hello guys,
finally i have bought the first g-shock in my life..lol
i have chosen G9300NV-2

why this model
1) display, between G9300GB and G9300NV-2, i find it a little more difficult to read on GB..not sure why, maybe because all black.. so immediately i have eliminate the gb from my list. and its down to G9300-1 and G9300NV-2
2) i did go to shop to compare both watch on my wrist. both looks great but i just find that blue stands out a little more..not too colorful but acceptable.. i like the blue details better..
3) buttons, hard but still i can live with that..

this is my first, and wont be my last g-shock though it will stay with me for a long time..

how i feel about g-shock
1) feels solid, feels tough..
2) looking around g-shock just makes u feel like buying them all..lol
3) features wise is good imo

and now i can understand better why people collect g-shock.. ^^

anyway , would really like to thank those that gives me suggestion and advise..though i may not follow your advise but i find it really helpful.
people in this forum is great..especially @lokgotz

and heres a pic of my new g-shock and of course thanks to her im wearing this rclxm9.gif
