Going japan for a few days ( tokyo). Any idea where are the best places to hunt for g shock? Not necessary rare, just maybe cheaper than here
*
Yup, BIC Camera - they have lots of branches. The prices there are 30% off retail price.
However, they don't sell collaboration models except general release version.

The prices are cheaper than MY?

I few that reseller here are selling quite cheap for basic models non collab.
*
I bought few GD-X6900 HT series at the price of RM330-340 (after conversion) at BIC Camera (Feb 2015).
G-Factory selling RM610/pc. I think for a start, you could survey (online seller and even in G-Shock FB group) on the prices before you go there so you have a better idea.

The currency was 1000Y to RM29.90 when I changed beginning of the year.

For info, i just found that no tax for buying oversea except 6% gst need to pay. Hope that true.
*
Hello, depends on the item declared value. Anything, in this context G-Shock - over RM500 will be charged GST 6%. I've been to the Pos Malaysia Sepang twice to claim my G's. The recent one I bought however was not taxed (> 1K). So, depends on your luck I'd say.

i just had a seiko came in, more than rm500.
was sent via fedex and escaped gst.
its not the first time im hearing fedex escapes...dunno why tongue.gif
*
Nice to hear that! smile.gif I do not have much options as they only have (recommended) EMS to ship. So when it comes in, it's handled by Pos Laju.

there is no option to pay more for courier?
if poslaju asks u to pay GST, then be prepared to fork out around extra rm100 over the GST, for their services rendered should u choose to.
*
They only have EMS, AIR, SAL. Yeah, we have the option to appoint Pos Laju (RM49.50 service fee). But thought of just going there directly and see how the process of claiming the package works. smile.gif

Hi

Anyone know how much the price (flip and before flip)  for red color frogman? I think the model number is GWF-1000RD-4JF. Thinking buying one, but dunno how much it cost roughly.

Thanks
*
I'm not sure what's the price before flip --- but right now it's selling at 6-7K. I just asked recently.

I wanted to buy when it was first released. Plenty of shops in HK were selling when it was released. Retail HKD7,999. These days, they are going for RM7k or so.

Be careful though, a lot are "assembled" units, i.e. they buy a basic GWF-1000-1, then spend a few hundred Ringgit (maybe even more than RM1k) to modify it to make it look like the GWF-1000RD-4.
*
Yes, that's right -- afterall, the price tag and the box can be custom (look like real too). The only part where it makes sense to check is the back case (whether it is opened before). Casio branding is always pointing to 12 o'clock position. Those that were opened before, it's hard to get back into that position.

Not really. Most (if not all) of my Frogmans and the ones with screwbacks never had Casio branding at the 12 o'clock position. Some are second hand, some are brand new. I even have one that I bought brand new from the G-Shock shop in Odaiba in Japan and it's not at 12 o'clock position.
*
Ah, ok -- well, then it's hard to determine whether it is original or custom (assembled). sad.gif But there are so much things we could buy with 7K! G-Shock Odaiba is a retail outlet right (if I remember correctly)? It's quite pricey, I went for places like Bic Camera or Yodo -- cheaper smile.gif
