turn the watch around see whether any water resistance & how many meters, if yes don't worry much, if water goes in, means you got a fake.

even F-91W has water resistant.

Hi all, i just got a gdx6900cm-5 and found that there is a gap between the casing and the glass surface.

Is it normal? Cause i will be wearing the watch for swimming, just wonder if it's safe for that.

Gap like the picture below. Looks common for this model or all the gshock?

yes water resist & 20 bar.

don't think mine is fake. searched online and found similar gap in all those photos either by reviewer, collector or seller.

then your only issue is dust/salt/dirt stucked in between the gap.

guys I am looking for a mens G-shock for sweaty sport/gym/swimming session purpose, rough use style.

So I no need to bring bulky fragile smartphone. Budget <less than RM500, not into Fashion, but more into reliability/functions/practicality = best value type.

min 5years battery life, I dont want those 2-3 years one, lazy to change. tough solar is fine but not needed(prefer money spend on else where).

G-7700-1= This one good? Seems a lot of feature for low price?
G-2900F-1V = What about this? I think 7700 is beating this.
GDF-100-1A = How about this any issue?

Any other recommendation? G-shock noob here. laugh.gif

*despite I said I not into fashion, please dont recommend me kids/rainbow colors. laugh.gif

Hi Boldnut,

Here is my reply.

G-7700-1 = It's 1/1000 sec. twin stopwatch, Multi world time viewer up to 3 time zone, melody alarm which can be set on daily or weekend * powered by CR2025 battery with 5 years battery life.
G-2900F = It's an vintage old model which have Telememo (like phone books but only can store 40 records), battery life is 10 years.
GDF-100-1A = Riseman substitute that without solar powered, has ABT features (Altimeter, Barometer/Thermometer), short battery life: 2 years due to power consumption on sensors.

Alternative: G-6900-1, series 6900 with solar powered, basic alarm with 24 hour chrono and timer and worldtime. Battery life is using CTL-1616 and will be replaced from 6 to 15 years.

or GDX-6900 series, DW-6900 big brother that powered by CR-2032, up to 10 years of battery life.

cheers,

gshockrocks

the gshock i use for gym is my rangeman cos of the one press straight into stopwatch mode so can time intervals better.
but if below rm500 and gym, i probably look at one of the timex like ironman series.
but if all u want is just to tell the time, then go basic like dw6900...low rm200 can get already.

alright.. gonna strike off the GDF-100-1A, it cost more but not useful.

About Timex, I am not sure I want those since i kinda want the shock resistant for rough use lol, aesthetically G-shock seems to have a upper hand here.

I guess is either 7700 or long battery/tough solar 6900 series

How many years those rechargeable battery life last b4 they require to replace?

the only outgear i kinda like is the SGW500.
but even just looking at it in real life, u already know its not that durable.
at the price still again go get a basic like 5600 or 6900.

well I was thinking to have 2 watches for the price of 1 sensor G-shock. tongue.gif

a basic g-shock + a sensor watch than just 1. laugh.gif
