yeah, G9300, was supprise during test wrist wear, weight does not justifies its saiz, was light and after first try, straight away pay and take!!!
was eying this model, rangeman and frogman..... too bad price over my budget+heavy.... ends up choose G9300 because its weight tho
*
rangeman gw9400 caught my attention seriously, but was then gave up hunting becoz of the price, not really need those function though (triple sensor) trust me bro, no regret picking the ga1000 series, big case, lume with neobrite, thermometer and compass, and more importantly the plane logo is rotate-able drool.gif

there is a new color variant for this ga1000 series, GA1000-9G

QUOTE(OwlsHeart @ Jan 30 2015, 02:59 PM)
just noticed your questions regarding my purchase, sorry not really that active around here  tongue.gif

nice watch btw  laugh.gif

il still answer your previous questions anyway, i bought mine from imywatch on lelong cause that time only this seller got the red version in stock. Gpeople didn't have the red one and imywatch was a good and trustable seller.
It's definitely original set. If imported set, would be hard to claim warranty i think.

So far i am loving it, the only downside for the GA 1000 series is that the light does not illuminate the digital figures therefore you won't be able to use the digital face at night. This is a known issue for a lot of analog type of g shocks that also comes with digital face though.
Its not really a big deal for me though since i dont use the digital face that much at night especially.  smile.gif
*
yaya i got it, the digital window doesn't light up but nt a big issue to me la, btw, this ga1000 did surprise me with the lume duration, it was like 4-5 hours or maybe even longer than that lume duration which is far more better than my seiko watch rclxms.gif rclxms.gif impressive, the glass used spherical glass too, which most of the other gshocks are just flatted

QUOTE(m3lover @ Jan 30 2015, 03:27 PM)
Lol bro, congrats.... finally yr dream came true.
*
lol thx, my 1st impression to this baby was like... blink.gif so small one ah? maybe becoz my gr8900 with a bigger case perhaps just my own thought... buying g shock was like entering an endless game ei, now starting eyeing on other models d shocking.gif

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jan 30 2015, 05:49 PM)
hi guys,

im interested in getting a g shock. i havent gone window shopping yet but i would want something all black...no other colours at all not even on the light button. matte if possible. max im willing to pay is RM500 but wont mind spending more if the watch is nice.

any suggestions ?
*
same taste as mine, i prefer black matte all the time than those glossy black sweat.gif there are a lot suggestion don't worry

GA300-1A this model was owned by one of our member here recently laugh.gif
GR8900A-1 this one with tough solar, i owned the white version, personally feel that only black gshock can represent the toughness
GA310-1A
GA110GB-1 hot sales model but glossy
GA110-1B black stellar
GA110RG-1A i tested this before, don't worry bout the rose gold, it doesn't look sharp at all

anyway, u can still choose those you want, all the above i researched recently (black color of course) which are my favourite biggrin.gif

user posted image

is this model available in local watch shops ? i wanna try it on b4 getting it
*
wow, not bad ei...with vibration somemore, here u go bro... GD3501B

the price is within your budget, maybe you can go watches shop to test out before buying, if price more or less below rm400 is acceptable...

"This new G-SHOCK is designed and engineered for those special dark, secret missions that demand something extra." your job quite dark ei bro brows.gif brows.gif got Men In Black feel laugh.gif

*

i guess my 1st choice is GD350. now reading reviews on watch forums n got some negative feedback about the feel of the buttons on the GD350. LED also too bright it seems.

over in the watch forum, G-7900 seems to be like god of g shock lidat LOL. n its cheap too but not all black.

i predict when i go browse at watch shop im gonna be in dilemma d.
*
no worries la, the purpose going shop is to test the gshock on your wrist, how it looks, how it feels... for g7900, personally i feel the 4 screw on top of the case spoiled the whole feel, still it's just my own preference la

one benefit from GD350 is the battery life, 5 years on CR2032, if you ask me which looks better between gd350 and g7900, gd350 ftw in terms of just "look" biggrin.gif I'm going to poison you with another one GW9400

exactly la the 4 screws in front just spoils d look of the 7900

GW9400 bit too flashy for me. im targeting models with uncoloured "G Shock" n "Protection".
*
how bout classic gshock DW5600
or this GA120-1A

QUOTE(m3lover @ Jan 30 2015, 08:31 PM)
Indeed had tested GA1000 lume can last for 7 hours and still glowing... maybe my room not dark enough ?

One noob question, is the alarm have to manually set e.g Monday to Friday ON, weekends off myself ?
*
ya right, the lume is so long lasting, of course manually off bro, if it can setting weekend off then it will be a smartwatch not a gshock anymore tongue.gif any chance of getting another new gshock ah bro? brows.gif

QUOTE(OwlsHeart @ Jan 30 2015, 09:14 PM)
True, it doesn't bother me either but with a price tag of RM500-600+  for a g shock watch it should do better than that.

The lume duration last long indeed. You dont even have to light it up to charge the lume, the sunlight always did the job for me whenever im outside wearing the watch  icon_rolleyes.gif

I really like the window glass. It got this blueish tint under light which is cool  tongue.gif  I saw some people say the window is made of spherical glass, some say mineral glass. Which is right and are there differences ?  blink.gif

Also i think watches should have their own screen protector sold separately as im always scared of scratching my ga 1000 window  haha.
*
the glass is made of mineral named mineral glass but with spherical shape or cutting, so it's made of mineral spherical glass biggrin.gif
for screen protector we can try DIY on it perhaps...getting done with the exactly diameter, then cut it from extra smartphone sp then smile.gif

QUOTE(m3lover @ Jan 30 2015, 09:55 PM)
Lol bro, I just got it last 2 days only la. Now u ask me getting another wan ? Haha Yala, that's y I mentioned noob question. Already getting use of smartphone for alarm. Now wanna try use my GShock for alarms as well.

1 question, what does the DST meaning? I know is a day light saving but when I ON it how come my time become extra an hour ? When off it then my time resume back to normal...
*
seems like i'm nt the only one facing the DST problem, it's late night now, will search the solution tml...lazy read those instruction actually tongue.gif tongue.gif anyway, now can start hunting for next target d ma, collection bro as the thread named "Gshock Collectors" thumbup.gif

rangeman is my most used amongst those, mostly cos of its one press stop watch so much easier to time intervals during workouts.

lol bro, small collection shocking.gif 2 protrek? mudman and rangeman cool2.gif btw, what's the function of altimeter actually? to calculate the height and how much u bought it? seems like not cheap though

altimeter i dont use la, mostly for those ppl who go hiking /  mountain climbing.
i use the barometer and compass more.
cheapest protrek is the PRG270 la, best value protrek right now also...rm400-500 can get.
*
i see, but i wont go for protrek la,the feel just not so right...still gshock rocks, btw, u aimed only master of g/professional series only?

ya, master of G.
but the orange 5500 u see is not master of G la, just got it cos its roots is still mudman and i wanted another square.
before i had 5600 and gx56, one too small another too big, 5500 just perfect.
*
that means this is your next model eh GWN1000B

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jan 31 2015, 11:32 AM)
i was checking that 5600MS out last night online n its nice. but i wonder how clear is it IRL. coz fr pictures it doesn't look very clear.

GA-120-1A not for me...i want digital g shock.

i wonder if getting display model is ok...coz u know those small watch shops dun carry much stock...most of the time display model is d only one they have...after being exposed to all d lights n heat, will it affect the watch ?
*
yesterday i accompany a fren buying his 1st watch, not gshock but seiko la, he asked the same question as yours, will the condition of watches get affected becoz of exposure to light and heat, but no worries la actually, for most of the gshock model is tough enough, there's the selling point of gshock bro, may i knw your location? perhaps u can try search for g factory if your area is selangor or KL...

GA1000FC-1A never realize that this whole black model (the plane logo is black too) is the metal band strap u mentioned, no wonder the price bumps up to rm799 compare to normal ga1000

GA-1000 only comes in FC ver. not stainless steel band/strap.
GA-1000FC-1A, all black. FC stands for fiber composite band iianm.

look at the prefix at the back of the model e.g:

GA-1000FC-1A, FC band instead of normal resin band

GW-A1000D-1A, stainless steel band

sifu indeed biggrin.gif yours is this model eh?link
rm1.5k++ bro, seriously no joke shocking.gif

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jan 31 2015, 11:49 AM)
ok good to hear that. but i still hope to get one that is in d metal box...unwrapped n still covered in plastic

my location is kelana jaya. there is a g factory in paradigm mall. that will be d 1st place i will check out  biggrin.gif
*
glad to hear that? btw, a bit confused now, which model u aimed now? give up yr gd350 d? lol biggrin.gif

p/s: all the gshock came with steel box bro, just that they have to unbox it to show to customer what model they have, basically all watches are new one no worries bro, i got your feeling, I'm those type that love to unbox every new stuff by myself biggrin.gif

QUOTE(8431 @ Jan 31 2015, 12:02 PM)
haha i no sifu... i also started out hunting like you, i've a worn out old model G-Shock AWGM100 series,
from GAC-110, then move on to GA-1000FC, then GW-A1000FC, finally settled with GW-A1100FC

mine is the FC ver : http://www.casio-intl.com/asia-mea/en/wat/.../GW-A1100FC-1A/

i got it from Japan @ good price compared to few shops i've asked at KL

GW-AW1100FC-1A @ KL @ RM1999, where by i got mine at Japan @ RM1504, due to Yen low currency exchange.
*
rclxms.gif rclxms.gif still a poor student, the most expensive i managed to buy is the entry level ga1000 series bro, but definitely will buy another gshock, i'm eyeing the mtg black steel from the very beginning, money speak everything, out of budget la..rm3k cry.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 31 2015, 12:02 PM)
imo, thats the fugliest master of G ever.

different ppl different taste bro, btw, gw9400 really caught my attention, solar powered right? how's the battery life after full charge? based on your daily usage

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jan 31 2015, 12:26 PM)
glad coz im really particular about buying display models...not just watches. that being said all my watches were display models coz my dad's fren owns a small watch shop so whole family buys watches fr there.

so i have never had that satisfaction of slowly unboxing a watch b4.

im still aiming for the gd350. but im also keeping in mind GD-100-1B, DW5600MS (or other 5600 models) n maybe even d G7900. the GX56GB-1 also caught my eye but i reckon its gonna be too big n too expensive for me.

for some reason over at watchseek forum they keep raving about the G7900.

im just hoping that the GD350 is still available in the colour i want. it was released in early 2013 so might be a chance not many shops carry it anymore.

right now im actually trying to find my 1st g shock model. the outer shell broke apart a few yrs ago n i threw it away...imagine that man. im cursing myself for doing that.
*
if you wish to enjoy the unboxing process, buy online bro, at least by the time u received your parcel and the package is sealed (actually they ady opened to double check or even triple check before sending out tongue.gif lol )

so assuming that your wrist isn't that big eh? or u prefer smaller watch? based on my own experience and what the watches shop owner told me last night, 10 out of 10 customer bought their 1st watch claiming that their wrist is small and not wish to wear big case watches, but for the 2nd watch, they all wanted bigger one, but still there are some "unique" ppl prefer small la, not to say dun hv at all

based on the model u mentioned, i'll prefer either GX56GB-1 or GD100-1B, GX56 is definitely bigger with 55x53mm, but gshocks are the bigger the better for men biggrin.gif or with your budget you may grab two of them together perhaps rclxms.gif

but really the gulfmaster is either love or hate.
the ones who love like the rolex looking thing.
the ones who hate doesn't find it as practical unless u need the tide graph.
anyway, solar power v3 sensor very efficient la.
the 9300 also solar but v2, batt drop to M much faster than 9400 or the v3 sensor protreks.
*
so tough solar is solar power v1 i guess hmm.gif i did own a gr8900, from H to M, it was a short period like 1 week blink.gif so damn fast weiii....or maybe becoz i pressed the illuminator quite frequent tongue.gif how u charge it bro, wearing it under sunlight or put it some where under hot (let the gshock sun bathing eh like wat i did biggrin.gif )

i only charge when go M, so means hardly with v3... probably once or twice a year only charge in direct sunlight.
v2 i stop using already, just let it sit in box.
*
how old your gw9400 and normally how long it takes for you to buy another gshock? smile.gif

QUOTE(8431 @ Jan 31 2015, 06:30 PM)
basically no difference right? even the design looks alike hmm.gif

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jan 31 2015, 07:00 PM)
my wrist size is about 7 inches. i dun mind a big watch, its just that i dowan oversize one...mainly coz it'll end up getting scratched. i think most models im ok with the size. but i'll avoid those extra large size ones. but i still wanna try on the King GX56 tho LOL.

nah im getting one 1st. den see how it goes. my last g shock was a model called DW-003C-8T. got it as a bday present back in 1998. cost RM400+

user posted image

i liked it but it was hard to maintain bcoz of the white fabric band.

after that i found another g shock in a cab. but neva really wore it. cant remember d model. it was black with red buttons. similar to 7900 in terms of looks but with less functions. a few yrs ago i took it out n wanted to start wearing it but the whole outer shell disintegrated when it washed it with water. broke into pieces really.
*
go get it bro, i got attracted by GX56 as well, will definitely pick one classic look gshock as well, either the 5600 or this one
personally feel that gshock is tougher with resin band, not really into fabric strap, i guessed teh gx56 cost around rm3xx-4xx eh? managed to find any?

just guessing la, this model is the one u found broken? GWM530A or this one? DW6900

QUOTE(penguin_ex @ Jan 31 2015, 09:01 PM)
haha, but still, personally prefer the old skool letter display in G-Shock than those with rotating arm

1st things 1st wanna get the GD350...it was love at 1st sight LOL. after that i will get one basic/classic model. it will probably be the G7900. so many raves about 7900 over at watchuseek forum that im curious to see wats d big deal.

i think d model i found in d cab was a DW6900. it might be fake or maybe d band was fake...as d band buckle was gold in colour.

despite my interest i havent gone to any watch shops yet. mainly coz its a long weekend n malls gonna be packed with ppl. i wanna take my time looking n trying Gs. n not having to move aside every 30 seconds LOL.

i gather G Factory is d best place for browsing for Gs ?

Is pertama complex an ok place to get g shocks ? cos my dad knows a guy there n whole family been buying watches fr him since the 80s.
*
the gold buckle doesn't mean it's a fake set bro, some models does have gold buckle like the GA110GB
go for both GD350 or GX56 is a good choice, how g7900 attracted u bro seriously? CNY is coming soon, weekend sure traffic jam, even small city like seremban also jam like rclxub.gif rclxub.gif i personally feel that g-factory is the best la, at least most of the typical model they have...i'm eyeing on gx56 as welll....KING of Gshock drool.gif
