QUOTE(lokgotz @ May 25 2016, 05:15 PM) It's one of the two G-Shock stores in Japan. The other being Fukuoka. Hey man, do you know how much does the battery of G-300 costs? Those watch shop fellas said that its not solar powered. But the thing is, it is. As the digital numbers pulse up when it is rays with direct sunlight. Yes it's pricier in the G-Shock stores. I was there and I said why not and bought one. And they said solar batteries for G-Shock is usually 100-200 bucks. Is it true? In that case I'd rather buy a new one instead lol. Since I bought for around 300 only. |

As the digital numbers pulse up when it is rays with direct sunlight. From Casio's specs, the G-300 is not a Tough Solar watch and it uses two SR927W.(Link) I'm not sure how much is the battery but I wouldn't pay more than RM10 for one, considering the usual CR2016, CR2025 and CR2032 are about RM5 for one (Maxell brand). And they said solar batteries for G-Shock is usually 100-200 bucks. Is it true? In that case I'd rather buy a new one instead lol. Since I bought for around 300 only. With regards to solar batteries, I'm fortunate that I've only had two that gone bad. One was my very old Raysman that uses ML-2020. I've tried to look for a replacement in Klang Valley but could never find one. I gave up and just used a normal non-rechargeable battery. I think it's close to impossible to find one here. The other one was a GW-200 Frogman I have. For that, I sent it to Marco and they changed the battery for me. I'm not too sure what battery they replaced (because the normal CR batteries will work as well, like the one I have with my Raysman, even the charging part. The meter drops, put it under the sun it charges, Full Auto EL light works). I haven't gotten the chance to open it up (too busy) to check what battery they replaced for me. They charged RM50 or so for it. |

Since its just a normal G-Shock. |

However, if you don't mind paying, I don't see why can't you change at the shop.Seems like your watches' battery literally last for a century haha Anyway, is it advisable to change at normal watch shops like City Chain or so? QUOTE(Everdying @ May 31 2016, 02:17 PM) i dont see any reason why it wont. My concern is regarding the adjust-ability of the metal band, I have really slim wrist so I am afraid that it won't fit even if I adjusted it but is it true that the all the links in the metal band is removable?and wouldnt it make more sense / cost effective to buy the model on steel band, then only buy resin band later? unless the colorway of the resin band model is what u prefer. |

I've never opened up any of my Tough Solar GW-200 series Frogman because they don't need opening up. Maybe I will just to see what battery they replaced. Remember, not all GW-2XX models are Tough Solar. Try key in GW-201 at Google search, you will be surprised... cheers, gshockrocks |

I read your earlier post wrongly... Please disregard my previous reply to you. Don't know what I'm doing. Maybe too tired. HahaRemember, not all GW-2XX models are Tough Solar.
