QUOTE(vavavoom @ Feb 15 2012, 11:26 PM) mchw08: Evrything u mentioned is a strike bro, am seasonal collector, i little of everything lol.. will try to get some card pics up.. as for comics.. kinda stop couple years back but still buy once in a full moon to fill in the missing gap. like u, the artists come 1st, hence not much DC comics i get when i started collecting.. mostly marvel/image or painted art work. My Witchblade cards is what i most wanted to complete now. Turner 1 of my fav, sad that he is no longer around.Would love to see your Marvel/DC card collection someday. U seemed 2b pretty round-up collector. I know 4 fact that u collect diecast. And I also c that u collect a bunch of other stuffs too. Nowadays, I go online & purchase those hard-to-get trading card inserts or insert cards 2 complete my sets. I'll scan my Alex Ross signature card from DC Kingdom Come Xtra & post it here one of these days. It's one of my most prized possession. I'm a huge fan of Alex Ross. Bought a lot of signed stuffs those days. You must b a comic collector too I presumed? I collect comics but unlike some collector, I go 4 artwork 1st. Story Telling is not what I usually look 4 1st. |

QUOTE(vavavoom @ Feb 25 2012, 09:45 PM) Yup... All cards, produced in 1996, are reproductions from the Now-Classic Kingdom Come series. The many levels of inserts are very nice. In fact I managed to get the Official Alex Ross Autograph insert. The 6-card special set mentioned earlier are all never-seen new art work. sounds cool.......... how i wish Ross would do the Marvel Earth, Paradise and Universe X card set. would like all the cover art to form a gigantic piece.. used to scan those covers and combined them with photoshop and reprint out as giant poster.. but most of it cant connect properly.. sighh.. :S |

QUOTE(vavavoom @ Feb 27 2012, 12:45 AM) I was mesmerised by Alex Ross after Marvels 4 issue ltd series in 1994. Even bought the hardcover version of it. Then came Kingdom Come in 1996, again I was starstruck. Bought the whole series plus the Slip Case Edition which contains his signature plus the Skybox Trading card sets. Then started buying almost everything done by the Man. Remember the lenticular cover Superman Forever #1 & Batman: No Man's Land? Not only I bought multiple issues of the books, I even bought the signed edition reproduction of the many pics that made the lenticular of both Supes & Batsy. My wall is decorated with Alex Ross's stuffs. That's me & Alex Ross...... AND Yes it would've been great if someone would make the effort of producing cards based on those series u've mentioned earlier. U r 1 diehard fan of Ross, sound awesome to have everything by him.. i like him too.. but i like Turner more.. due to his art style and detailing.. and 1 more piece to go..![]() |

QUOTE(vavavoom @ Mar 5 2012, 11:42 AM) This set was done by the husband & wife team Boris Valejo & Julie Bell but the set is a bit yellowish. Don't know what came over it. Yesterday a fren of mine told me that if the hologram is kept in box and not xpose to light, the hologram will get damage. its the reverse for chromium card, they cannot have too much lighting else get damage...Added on March 5, 2012, 10:47 am I don't quite like Julie Bell's art. She drew a girlish guy. If u guys watch closely, the face is quite ok but the pose is not so manly. But she's Boris Valejo's wife! Hahahaha... Maybe they are a combo; if someone wants them, its either engage them both or no go. so now am worry on my hologram stuff as i kept them in boxes for ages , need to dig them out and see the damage.. the agony.. ouch.. |
