and my interest is SE P910 and treo 650.
dunno which is da best now..
so plz help me decide it..

also my budget is tight..
goin to sell my Dell Axim x30v+Sony Clie Nr70v+Motorola V171 for it..
is it enough already or have to top up some???

I was a Treo 650 user before and i would say, it is one of the most stable pdaphone compare to the PPC Phone..In terms of application, i would say there are more options for treo and the apps are, should i say more powerfull..

Treo 650 was going for RM1888 during last year's christmas but i'm not sure how much izit now..i have not used SE Symbian Phones before but if i'm not mistaken, if there is no sim card presence, the pda function will not work...Treo 650 can be used as a PDA alone without sim card...

For flexibility and stability I recommend the Treo. Tons of software out there.

Between the two, I say Treo 650

I've seen some good deals for Treo 650.

Dopod is expensive because those people who manage it use good and realiable parts like Palm.

But you need to also consider durability, compatibility and capability.

I have a model of the Palm Treo 650 with free SDCARD.

If it's too high for you then maybe you can consider the ol' Treo 600 which i've seen cheapest is around RM580 or more or less if I'm not mistaken.

That i'm not too sure... Have u gone to any PDA shop and asked them to let u have a test unit to play around with? That's what i usually do when looking for a handheld to purchase... At least i can familiarize myself with my shortlisted units before deciding which one to go for...

Btw,have you consider any WM PDA Phone?

Currently,WM i'll say O2 will be good.
If only they had one which is running on Palm OS.
Anyhow O2's PDA Phones are nice in design and also good and lasting.

soo many softwares , pretty nice GUI and superb 5-way navigation thingy [look mom , no stylus].....Its worth to buy it

Plus it pawns Pocket PC Devices out there [hahahaha , take out the stylus and use...]

If u think palm's help u do more, then by all means,get a 2nd hand treo 650 for RM700-RM900 found on ebay.
If u think PDA has more features and multimedia-er than palm, u can get the basic Dallap PDA phone that run on WM2003. It's selling at RM999 new ori set by one of our forummer, try look in Garage Sales.
The only thing the Dallap is missing from treo 650 is bluetooth.
However, if u dun use bluetooth much and can online via GPRS, IRDA and sync cable, then u preety much wont miss the bluetooth function.
Unlike treo, dallap has flippable antenna, which makes it look a lot nicer.

I guess you misunderstood the statement. Of course the Treo 650 has no integrated wi-fi. The wi-fi driver hack mentioned by prasys actually refers to the driver needed by the SDIO wi-fi card, it is not about a hack to enable wi-fi on the Treo 650 just like that.

treo 650 is good for PIM,phone call and one hand navigation.
If you going for multimedia,WiFi, then WM5 is better.
WM2003SE is not tat good, better try WM5.

I did not try the wifi hack , because I dont have a Treo. If someone wants to donate their Treo 650 to test it on , I would be happy to do so.... and maybe it does not work anymore with new revisions , you would have a problem . I have heard of other wifi solutions in Palm. Again Its been a long time since I have 'sync'ed' with the Treo world....

When I used these two devices, I found the SE910i got pretty boring very quickly for me. In terms of expandability (software) and "playing-around" fun, the Treo 650 was so much better. The 650 was the best PDA I ever tried, the 910i was more phone than PDA. Plus for all the troubles with Bluetooth devices which the 650 was infamous for, the 910i was worse. IMHO. It would often disconnect from my headset and reconnection was a PITA.

My 2 cents.

P.S. I gave up my beloved Treo 650 and am now using the Dopod 838 Pro. My impression now is, this device is even better than the 650.

I'm in the same boat as u. Planning on getting a treo 650 soon also. I guess it's the best smartphone available out there.

I checked the price at PDAExpert, MidValley...the price was RM1888 after stripping away all the other accessories (mem card, case, screen protector i think).

Not sure. I seldom go to lowyat or any other shopping complexes. Anybody knows about ezypayment? I heard this from a fren. However, im still skeptical if it's 0%.

I did not say P910i was worse, just that *for me*, it got boring rather quickly. Perhaps the Symbian UIQ was the thing that made me turned-off by it. It did not feel as expandable and powerful as the Treo 650.

Such 0% interest installment existed & it is true but only applicable to credit card holders. Besides, it also depends on which bank the shop participate with.

It is shop dependent. Normally Maybank is in the participating list.

Just my 2 cents: Used a P800 for years till i just changed 2 02 mini. No regrets at all. Great pda phone. P910 will look nice but not enough sofware to fully utilise it. If your choice is only between P910 / T 650, i would recommend the 650. Better interface plus more sofware to fine. If you really need a keypad then sure the 650 but if you can live with a virtual keypad why not consider the mini?

You can find both at subang parade digital centre. Got mine there( very helpfull people).

Yup. Though they do sell brand new pdas, they do stock up with a lot of 2nd hands as well. Some of their stuff are really good conditions. Look for either a DOPOD or O2 signboard. I think they are the same boss. Check them out. No harm trying. Just be warn that they are only open from 12 noon onwards, come earlier and you will have a long wait. By the way...just came back from there and the 650 is still there. Saw a nice looking mini as well as a 818pro(cool in black) as well. You should really ask yourself what you want to use your pda for. than decide

Mini should be going frm rm1050 onwards(depending on condition). 650 last i check 980-990. Didnt ask for 818 as they were quite busy then (didnt want to kacau them), i guest feom 1500. not sure.

By the way... even palm is using WM in the new treo. Kinda make u think a little more dont it?
