hi, there are few types of wifi sd card. toshiba, eyefi, chinese brand, etc..

toshiba class 6 wifi sd card seems to have mixed reviews on the internet. some say, take minutes to transfer a 20mb photo.

what are your experience with them? are the cheap chinese ones ok ? (under RM40) icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Using Eye-Fi. So far happy with the results.
Except that it is expensive for the amount of capacity

Im using Toshiba Flashair class 10.
no complaint from me so far. smile.gif

might not be for those who shoots huge megapixels & bursts as card is rated to be slow.
for a 5mb file transfer to phone takes 2-3sec per file.

there is no shoot and view
no auto download
just plain gallery like app showing recent photos,
shoot new photo & click refresh (or set to auto refresh)
click photo to view
or select several photo to download.

Yes I would HIGHLY Recommend this card.

For me, i set the Wifi timeout feature from the default 5 mins to 1 minute to save power. (I dont know if it really saves power but i think that it does tongue.gif )

Just take photos like a normal memory card.

When you want to transfer/see the Photos, turn off the camera and turn it on again. Connect to the wifi of the memory card with ipad.
Open the Flashair app. The interface is like the camera roll.. tap on select and select as many photos as you like then select "save".
DONT close the app until transfer is complete.

Alternatively, you can choose to browse the pics full screen on the ipad without downloading. The pics take a couple of seconds to load for 3mb 8mp files.

When transferring with a laptop, Dont be lazy, take out the memory card and transfer as normal. Most laptops have memory card reader XD

i was using eyefi, and i kinda transfer non stop.... eventually it heats up so hot, it stop transfering and unable to connect.

when i was in SG, a friend (who works for flucards) gave me a flucard to test....
same thing happens, after transfering non stop (fashion studio shoot), it heats up and stop tranfering and unable to connect.

i think for light use, its alright
for heavy use,... the heat issue needs to be fix.....

yea, transfer speed is about so, 2-3mb per sec...

Not surprising. If you look at all those Wi-Fi SD cards you will notice that they're promoting it for general consumers.

Take my Wi-Fi card for example, once it's on SD Card slot the card heats up.

Any electronic device when in operation will generate heat. What matter most is the heat transfer.

when it stops connecting, i took out the card (just wondering what happened) and it burned my hand, its like a metal being burn by lighter for 1 minute, It Cannot be Hold... hot enough to make plasticbags turn out of shape. That Hot. if i leave it any longer i think my camera cardslot might become out of shape or damage....

so again, for light use only! and dont expect gigabit network speed. its still a comsumer level item.
