 Musclemania Issue Us Lawyer Letter on These Brands, What a Hypocrite!

BMF so whats the update? How are you dealing with the letter?

Last time I wanted to buy a batch of MusclePharm (MP) for resale but only BigEgo can sell them as they are the sole distributor according to MP head office.

Spoke to BigEgo of wanting to resale distribute but they pulak try to push his halal brand to me and refuse to sell those MPs in bulk.

But then again there are a lot of supplement shops nowadays. Why don't you all be friend and speak to each other and see if there's a way out?

Our lawyer advised us to just ignore the letter as they have no legal standing to make such a demand. We did and so far we have not seen any other letter from them demanding any losses..

Again, bullying and scare tactics.

As with your experience with BigEgo, this is the problem with distributors in Malaysia. They are supposed to be distributors to other retailers but end up wanting to be sole retailers. Oh well, bolehland..

Just ignore them. Once upon a time Binabadan.com received similar letter from Ego, but their lawyer counter replied and they went quiet. I know this for sure as I have close communication with Binabadan owner.

Gaspari Nutrition and many brands does not allow exclusive rights in the first place. Anyone can import.

There are legit International Exporters such as Sportika Export which allow anyone to buy from them. Only GNC are allowed to Import BSN, Muscletech and Optimum Nutrition which was given exclusivity by Sportika. However you can't stop the flow as there are other resellers in USA who will sell you any brand.

They can only stop you if the USA brands appoints an agent as their Trademark principal in Malaysia.

Firstly, Muscle mania is a hypocrite!  He is sending out letters like this to his competitors when all this while he is selling ON, BSN, which other people have exclusive rights!  What an A**.  Wasn't muscle mania once sued by GNC for BSN and ON, and GNC couldn't do anything?  Now he is employing the same bullying tactics on other smaller sellers!

Secondly, being a sole distributor means you want to facilitate distribution of a brand to other retailers in the market, not hug it like a baby and say only you  can sell it!  Distributors in Malaysia just don't get it!

Lastly, by trying to kill off competitors the only people who suffers are the consumers, and people don't appreciate things like this!

Need help and advise on this.

Lastly, other retailers and sellers if you are carrying these brands please watch out and let's not be caved in by this kind of bullying tactics!

you go to garage sales, there are tonnes of people selling protein nowadays. no one can know where they source their protein from.

Yeah meet the owner once, good chinese guys with lots of time for customer, even text me when I want to buy a wrong supplements. Now MMC in Damansara occupied by bunch of underweight saler that think he knows the best!
