Okay , WCG 2006 just ended. YAY !
Firstly, i would like to thank the marshalls, crew for being friendly and helpful to the gamers. In2 did a great job in making this event into a succesful one. After reading a few comments of gamers in this forum i would like to post my opinion here as well. 1. Registration. Gamers are required to register on Friday. I need to work on Friday(like most of you guys do) and my match is on saturday. So i ask my teammates to register for me as well. But that isn't allowed due to some photo issues on the tag so can't register that day. Thanks to Jessica from In2 ,she helped us solved the problem that night. 2. The venue. KLCC , in the center and heart of the city. Not much can be complained about it. Lots of parking space (although quite expensive), short walking distance between hall and car, easy to find, hallroom big enough to accomodate 500 plus gamers, marshalls, specs. But i had to agree that it is too DARN COLD inside. (Maybe that's why this years sponsored shirt is a jacket? LOL) 3 . Pc's. Duo Core, 1 GB ram. Good enough for most games played in WCG 2006. More than enough i would i say for SC, WC3, and CS. Well... for FEAR i think is still acceptable. Quite satisfied 4. Location of PC's. 5 in a row, other 5 opposite makes an island just like in the past few years. OKAY i heard some complained about the opponent to near to them causing them couldn't talk or discuss strats but in my OPINION isn't that what makes team games so exciting ? Look at the cs players shouting and screaming after each kill, the info they gave on the enemy location and stuff? I'm an ex-NBTD member and YES i played CS before, that's why i know. Communication is crucial and boost up morale of the team. Maybe i offended some opponents during the game talking loudly and stuff but why must we be 'shy' and type all the time in the game ? Frankly speaking DOTA should be played like CS since it's kinda similar like team work and hero missing , and stuff like that. 5. Sound. This has nothing to do with DOTA anyways because i'm not even wearing headset when playing. But i have to admit that it is VERY VERY ANNOYING to the CS players for not being able to listen to the footstep of enemies due to the stupid background music played. I mean sound could affect alot like distance of enemies, bomb location and others. Noisy background is the last thing i want besides laggy pcs. duh... Maybe put CS island at the corner end or elsewhere more quiet. 6. Time management. AVERAGE. Event this big is bound to be having delays on matches ( 1 , 2 hour delay is ok ) but organizers could have done better. For DOTA semi finals and final there's no time limit . They could have estimated the longest time possible for the game instead of guessing it . Just like my match with BZ2 almost reaching 2 hours. After the game my watch pointing around 2.40+ and the finals to be played on 3.00. Okay 20mins is enough for lunch around klcc area. But i choose to wait just incase something goes wrong and being late. Finals start at 3, and suddenly in the middle of the match marshalls requested for a change in rules from no time limit to 60 mins. FINE because we're both from the same clan/team but if we're facing other opponents ? Does that makes the game fair anymore ? After some fooling around and stuff , the game ended, we're rushed to the stage area ONLY to find ourself watching SHUFFLING, HIP-HOP. bah.... At least give us the time to go to the bathroom lahhhh . So damn cold somemore. 7. Audiences / Spectators. The organizer could have done a better job by providing a projector or something easier to see than 2 plasma tvs or at least put it up higher. Even i am having difficulty to watch during the ENET match. Last year in mid valley they have done a better job by providing a large projector where 100+ ppl can watch at the same time. Anyway there's what i would like to share with all of you guys. Any comments and opinion is welcomed. Goodgame to BZ and all the teams, what a close match we had. Hope to see you guys next year ( or some other tourney lol ) Wizz, TDigitaL / Beanboy |
