- ask them what package they have?
- what is the price per table
- what if i take xxx table, got any discount?
- if hotel banquet, can ask for 1 free hotel room and get special rate for guest ( if they wanna stay)

normal they dont give discount but they give extra stuff like free balloon, free flower ( u need to ask and push ) biggrin.gif

happy planning

Is it possible to celebrate in a different hotel? I know the banquet discount is usual the thing to look for at these places.

hotels usually no discount unless there is a huge screw up from the hotel's side which cause you embarrassment on your wedding day.

then you can fight for a discount (so called damages) and they might (note the word "might") give you one or compensate you with something else like a free buffet at a later date.

Hi guys,
I'm having my wedding dinner at a hotel in May 2015. At the moment the price per table is RM 988++.
Since GST will be implemented starting next year, the hotel event manager told me they will have to make adjustments based on the GST next year. Meaning the RM 988++ price could very well be different.

My question is.. Since I have already paid a RM 3k confirmation deposit, can I nego/deal with the event manager to fix the price regardless of GST implementation?

Also, I have very little knowledge on GST. Once GST is implemented, that means the price for the dinner table will definitely go up right?
Pardon me for my lack of GST knowledge.. sad.gif

Please help. I would really like to save as much as I can if possible. Just wanted to check with u guys here before I approach the event manager.

If you have paid the deposit and confirmated the menu... Yes u can fix the price there before GST... Actually you can make comparison like me. I had nego the menu already (mine was March) then the new menu coming in so I will have a look if it was cheaper and worth than mine then I will choose new if it was expensive than me... I'm so sorry about it....

is it normal for a hotel to ask for 100% payment before the wedding dinner?

i am planning for mid dec and this hotel is asking for 85% payment by mid sept...

final 15% to be paid 2 weeks before the big day...

My reception is in Berjaya hotel, they require 50% as booking payment, 30% payment required when food testing. Balance required to be settled right after the reception ended. No discount, we signed up during a wedding fair.
