i have found the bug. i enabled developers options and selected skip screen lock since i wanted to use a 3rd party lockscreen for lockscreen notification.

after selecting it and even deselecting it i got the system ui crash.

factory reset and tried the skip lock screen again system ui crash again too.

factory reset and didnt bother with it and now so far is ok .

must be a bug.

Guys wanna ask is there a way to bypass the miui browser. Right now when I click Google maps link or YouTube link it loads into miui browser. Any help?

I see in app manager can uninstall the browser. Is it safe to do so? Will I still be able to recover it if I do factory reset?

Why would you not use the default one? It's safer than chrome IMO. Plus, speed ain't bad. Only thing if you require translation then you'll need google chrome, otherwise the miui browser is one of the best. E.g. When you copy a link in whatsapp, once you open up the miui browser. It automatically asks you whether to head to the copied URL.

I prefer using Chrome as I've already grown used to it. But regarding the link they don't prompt. It loads fully in the browser. Maps and YouTube just loads on stock browser instead of switching to the respective app

Is it OK if I upgrade my firmware from v14 to v23 by downloading the rom from miui site and using the updater app?

Instead of going through ota via v22 then v23

I use foldersync lite to sync whatsapp folder to cloud. Can use the app to sync whole folders. Sync one way or two way and sync any deletion as well

Hi all, i'm facing this "com.android.systemui has stopped working" since yesterday..
So i decided to wipe data and clear cache this morning.. Bad luck, the problem still persist and now with new problems.. There is no Google Play and browser app.. Whenever i clicked on Google Settings, it just gave me this "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" with report to MIUI and OK button.. Bought this last week and i'm on KXDMIBF23.0..
*
I had that systemui crash when I got my phone on v23. Still persist after I reboot into system two running v22. Contacted xiaomi online customer care they lastly suggested to download the v23 package from miui site.

Flashed the file via updater app and since then my phone have not crashed. I hope it will work for yours too.

Was going to downgrade to v14 if didn't work. So far so good

Hi I wanna ask what are the holes on top beside the sim tray and one more beside the flash? And where is the primary microphone.? I've purchased a few cases from China and they all seem to cover those two holes.

Tried calling and the sound seems fine when covered

When I take a selfie using stock camera the image is saved as mirrored instead of being flipped back to normal. Happen when I take picture through whatsapp too. Google camera works fine though. Any fix?

i was playing my sister's Samsung note8, her note screen lit up automatically when case cover opens and turn off when case cover close. is there a way to set mi3 to work that way?
thanks

I'm using gravity screen app. Uses gravity sensor and proximity sensor. Developer mentioned only eat up about 5% of your battery. I think it is worth it

yea, although the slide screen can be turn off but it is replaced by the pattern lock which is worst. I don't want it. I want directly to main screen after returned from sleep. it appears that miui5 (maybe miui6 too) cant do that. :x  however, I've found out there are apps can permanently disable these functions like
- screenwakeup
- auto screen on off (smart cover)
- many others :hehe:
*
You can totally disable lockscreen in developers option > disable lockscreen
