I think it sounded much better on my Note2 and Nexus10 than it does with Mi3, which adds to the disappointment perhaps. Im using the phone with the worse headphone out.

Maybe it all comes down to codes, imbuilt software, codex and hardware that is why Xiaomi can go very affordable. They might have skimp out somewhere and this might be it.

just broke my s2 so i need new phone.

a few question please.
-what will i miss from samsung if i buy this phone? from samsung s2 to mi3

planning to get used s4, some of s4 features, air gesture, the waving etc looks cool
but someone pointed mi3 to me in the recommendation thread.

-does mi3 availability like mainstream brand?
i need it by this week if possible.

use mainly, instagram, whatsapp, 9gag, and navigation.

didnt tried any poston ear piece,

but i did use samsung note 2 and ace 3 ear piece for my mi3, sound is good for me,..

i dont use samsung s2 feature that much anyway,,

My AMOLED powered Galaxy Nexus had awful battery life as soon as the display was on. And usually, despite low brightness settings, something like 40-50% of the battery consumption came from the screen. I do miss that screen though, the black levels are just wow. The Galaxy Nexus screen displaying black is blacker than the Mi3 screen... when turned off. When on it's grey.

I personally really don't like the Samsung customizations. Big fan of stock Android, though MIUI is really good. My favorite Android after stock. I also think Samsung has no taste... their UI is ugly. The fonts they offer are not nice. etc.

The Mi3 audio output is... shall we say less than stellar. Apart from that though I love the phone.

One thing I noticed with the Mi3 though is font sizes. I have set it to small, but sometimes huge lettering appears, like when it lets me pick between mobile phone calls and internet phone calls (VoIP). Have they forgotten to change that setting...? It lacks a bit in consistency...

@jolokia: Why would you say the Mi3 is weak in the photo taking department? The camera is fine, it's used in many high end phones from last year. The UI is a bit simplistic, but there are other apps to fix that, and apart from the Mi2 and LG G2 it's the only phone I'm aware off that takes raw photos. Being able to circumvent less than stellar and way too aggressive noise reduction algorithms and too aggressive JPEG compression is great, also being able to adjust the white balance etc. afterwards and to recover highlights and shadows that would usually be lost. It's great.

Is it true that the Xiaomi Mi:3 is very slower in battery charging ? My friend said it takes a much longer time compared to Samsung S3, any truth ?

What foul sign? I'm surprised that your friend expect to charge a bigger battery with the same speed of a lower capacity battery.

Well, some say the max mi3 can input is 1.6A, some say capped at 1.2A, do more research on it. If the Mi3 can take 2A input, yes it will twice as fast. But not recommended by Xiaomi themselves.

Actually TS of this thread has a point. It's not only me or him or two or three more people. A lot of people observed and pointed out. The way you talk and reply and then you market ur links somemore in ur siggy. I think you can't be a thread starter as you are indirectly trying to PROMOTE ur items where they are STIRCTLY NOT allowed to promote. If you are a non TS then a member or MOD will warn but you somemore want to be a TS and then promote ur items. I dunno what else to say to you but people here are not stupid.

Hi Guys... I'm a new owner of a Mi3 & there's this annoying bug where I can't seem to remove Google Apps & other pre-installed apps. MIUI Ver:KXDMIBF23.0

Steps to reproduce / how I found the bug:
1. Buy Xiaomi Mi3, update it to the latest MIUI version.
2. After update completes, uninstall the following apps. (Google+, Browser, Hangouts, Play Newsstand, Play Books, Play Games, Play Movies, Maps, Drive, PonPonTile)
3. After uninstalling above mentioned apps, reboot the phone.
4. Phone re-installs all the apps during reboot. All icons for the previously removed apps return to the launcher and can be executed.
5. Try again & again, same results.

It's my habit to remove GApps & pre-installed apps I don't use as it clutters the screen & there is a chance the app might be auto-started/cached, reducing performance etc. But I just really hate stuff on the screen which I dont use
