Heh, as I recall, Schummi never did any interviews, and I don't see headlines saying "Todt is nannying Schumacher"

I dunno, I feel that the F2007 might have an overheating problem later this season, ecspecially at Monaco with that small engine cover design that they introduced in the recent testing.
For the MP4 McLaren, They were the only team not to use and extra fin on the front wing, and this is just their version of that. i doubt it will hinder any air as unlike old F1 cars, the air that they want to redirect to the air intake on top of the head now starts 30% after the start length of the nose, as this is FIA's way to lower the power of the car. That's why McLaren had been trying to use smaller nose in the MP4-18 (car not used) and MP4-19 (design failure). they used a wider nose for the MP4-20, but tried it again with the MP4-21. The current MP4-22 seems to be the best design yet |

It's different in Monaco. You are not going fast enough to get the air in the sidepods efficiently, and usually you can be stuck behind a car long enough to overheat

No, Fernando was not at fault IMO. He had his nose in front of Massa already during that time and Massa should have relented. The run through the gravel damages the undertray more than enough to render the car useless after that. It was a pity. He was as fast as Massa looking at fuel, as he stop oon the same lap as Massa did.

I still believe he had the right of way. Contrary to what the Star Sports commentator said, even tho he had to go the long way he had already outbrake Massa, thus Massa should not have gone into the inside as he knows Fernando will squeeze there. Fernando had to swerve after Massa hit him and he hit the gravel

QUOTE(advanced @ May 27 2007, 05:49 PM) alonso sholud not deserved the pole position, lewis hamilton deserve it,he was fast ,but too many traffic in front of him in the last minute. That's harsh. Remember that fernando had Rosberg in front of him during his fastest run. And he was down by 1 tenth during the first sector. |

After the second stop there was nothing that the others can do. The Maccas can just cruise to the finish.

He needs to learn that team comes first before personal gain. That's how F1 works. Coulthard lasted that long in F1 because he has learn this.

Illien already have nothing to do with the engine since 2000, when he sold his Illmor company to Mercedes. He's just there as an advisor

Not one person it seems. Ron uses a team this time instead of a head designer

The unused MP4-18 and the unloved MP4-19 was McLaren's first try to break from Newey's design. The cars were designed by McLaren's newly developed design team, but it was deemed to early to be good enough, thus the MP4-20 was given to Newey, where he used the Zero-Keel to good use. The MP4-22 as you can see is more similar to the MP4-19 than the MP4-20
Added on June 6, 2007, 7:30 pm QUOTE(faris21 @ Jun 6 2007, 04:02 PM) anyone know the race engineer for el Alonzo?? not quite. engine are usually the first thing designed for a car, and then teh car will literally be made around it. This is why some car will be launched later when they have problem with the engine design or when teams buying an engine from another manufacturer.Added on June 6, 2007, 4:23 pm u wrong dude, aerodynamic can effect the engine heating, newey must help illien to get a lot of air to colling the engine by make a good deflector panel and turbulent air flow(side pod) but he only make an aerodynamic work to increase car speed a good aerodynamic is who can create bodywork which can increase car speed, balancing wing (oversteer and understeer) to make driver suitable and make great airflow to support engine you can read more about this in 50th Annual Formula 1 book (publish in 2001) This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 6 2007, 07:30 PM |

QUOTE(faris21 @ Jun 7 2007, 01:05 PM) kimi`s engine has overheating at MonteCarlo`06 during safety car bcos he cant control his engine rev properly I don't remember where I took the statistics, but during the 2003~2006 season, there were only 5 retirements which is from a blown engine. The main cause for retirements were usually Hydraulics or Electrics.mclaren also has a lot of engine problem in 2005,i think kimi has 3 penalties(drop ten grid)at Monza,Silverstone and Magny Cours bcos of Mercedes engine |

he damaged the undertray a lot after the start, and cars with damaged undertray can sometimes catch you out without you knowing it. nothing he can do

I think Sato did that. anyways, I doubt the US track will be any different for Lewis. While THERE IS a 45 degree banking, that is nothing compared to elevation changes in European circuits like Monaco or Imola that the indy does not have. Thus this is an easier circuit to learn

I dunno. Renault is not fast enough for Fernando and he still bear grudge to the Ferrari on how they tried to trick his manager to let him go for free when he was at Minardi
