What's missing in Alonso yesterday is composure.
I know he's not to blame for the pit stop, it's just pure bad luck but too many mistakes especially the 1st corner. How many times he ran off track there?4 times?5 times?
IMHO he got too impatient.

he damaged the undertray a lot after the start, and cars with damaged undertray can sometimes catch you out without you knowing it. nothing he can do

QUOTE(faris21 @ Jun 11 2007, 12:24 PM) anyway, alonzo set the fastest lap of the race 1:16.367 while lewis make 1:16.494 http://www.formula1.com/race/result/fastestlaps/775/8.htmlnot worth watching unless F1 implement the 1 point system 4 the driver that did the fastest lap just like A1

Despite Alonso which is burden by his teammate's performance, Lewis is flying out there and in his 1st race in Canada, it is hard to imagine that he can pull off those times compared to his seniors... and the champion Anyway, McLaren triumph in Montreal, and i guess it was a good show for them.

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Jun 11 2007, 11:27 PM) safety car is coming out again.... alonso will back in action... i think alonso will beat lewis at US,lewis has no expirience at circuit which has 45degree banking,he just have expirience to race at normal layout circuit and road circuit alonso get 7th bcos he was struggling with tyre graining and lack of grip,he also get braking assist problem and wrong fuel strategy This post has been edited by faris21: Jun 12 2007, 12:48 PM

Regarding the tyre used in the race, I heard from the commentator said that a car need to use all the types of tyres in each race, which is soft, medium, and hard. Is there such rules now?

Is there such rules now? It's just soft and hard iinm. But Bridgestone have different types of soft and hard for every race. And yes u need to use both options during the race.

At least one lap, like what some of the teams did, they ran the soft tyres for 1 lap only during the safety car period.

I think Sato did that. anyways, I doubt the US track will be any different for Lewis. While THERE IS a 45 degree banking, that is nothing compared to elevation changes in European circuits like Monaco or Imola that the indy does not have. Thus this is an easier circuit to learn
