guys, a situation:

1. never enrolled in developer preview program before.
2. got official OTA lumia cyan + windows phone 8.1 installed.
3. decided to enrolled in developer preview program cos cannot wait for live folders.

question, how will my phone get update?
will it just download Update 1 or will it download windows phone 8.1 dp + update 1?

managed to update wp8.1 dp update 1
live folders rocks!

Done update. Still running smooth
Data toggle really useful. Should include long time ago.

it's been a long time since i had these issue. now all working flawlessly. i thought msft already fixed it in wp8.1, no? something about the method to pull notification and live tile issue back in the wp8.0 days.

8.1dp is software, denim is firmware.
you need both to run.
i bet what you're asking is 8.1dp or 8.1 official. if that's the case, if i'm not mistaken both are the same. 8.1dp is final as 8.1 official.
denim is available on lumia 620. why don't you update and give it a try

of course for some older lumia phone, it won't get some feature such as rich capture and hey cortana option due to hardware limitation.

some apps don't support 512mb devices.
should at least get 1gb.

just to be safe, get 1gb device at least.
sometimes, there are also apps that didn't support 512mb ram devices on the initial release.
takes a few updates from the developer to optimized their apps before it can support them.
being on windows phone, it is normal to have to wait.

this enables app to fast resume.
also got few apps that behave likes this like telegram and skype.

if you don't want regional format to change, you can just change the country/region to US and leave regional format in English (Malaysia).
This will also enables Cortana.

you can search a place by using it's coordinate but you can't pinpoint a place on the map to get it's coordinate.
