Hi all, I'm looking for help in this. I posted it in the Support Catergory but sadly, there's I can't get any solution. Since my current problem related to Apple, I wonder maybe you'll can help me here.

As everyone knows, the wireless password for Windows to get in is, or should I say universal WEP stuff:
40bit security - 5 or 13 characters
128bit security - 10 or 26 characters

I face this problem when I wanted to get into wireless network created by Airport Express using my Windows computers. For Airport Express and Mac computers, they support various length of password regardless what the level of security is. So, for example, if the wireless network password (Airport Express) is set to 9 characters, no Windows can get into the network.

Here's I would like to ask for help, to hunt for a solution to this, maybe a software or something which enable me to access the "Apple" wireless network using my Windows system.

Thank you.

Hi Jaafar... unfortunately, thr's no sure way to work around this... many tech support guys in KL may not be able to help u out too... i've been thru this drama when i set up wifi in my old office... a long story but i managed to get it to work after:

1. i changed all the wifi cards in the desktops to G instead of B only...
2. used WPA instead of WEP.

btw, i tried both airport express n extreme...

BUT... it didnt work seamlessly tho... connection drops and stuff... printer sometimes works sumtimes doesnt... the bestest way to solve it was offloading the airports to a linksys... so think abt dude... getting rid of the airports will most definitely solve ur problem immediately... smile.gif

you need 'standard' WEP Key , that is 10 for 64-bit/40bit , or 24 for128-bit , otherwise windows pcs might not work

that's strange, I have an airport express and it works just fine, I do use WPA (was gonna use WPA2 but my 360 doesnt support), My mac is OSX and bootcamp WinXP and there are no problems, just save the password string under WPA and it works great. Even airtunes isn't a problem from both PC and Mac. I havent tried a USB printer yet so I cannot tell you whether it works or not. This system does work better than my previous D-Link System which was wired! Yes, 802.11G is the way to go instead of B, the bandwidth is much better.

If you really get stuck, do a full reset to factory settings and keep the airport on a wall outlet of its own. That seems to work great, also mine is running from a linksys which is for the whole house so its a wireless access point. but a plug and play system for me that works, even with win xp and ms xbox 360 =D
