i have I9505 just receive an upgrade to Lpop 5.0. A bit dissapointed as i was hoping for the ultra power saving feature as in 5.1. I read somewhere that we can upgrade to 5.1 using cyanogenmod. has anyone done this ? I try using odin. but having trouble flashing TWRP. I flash using odin and it says PASS. but then reboot it is still standard recovery rom. any one has an idea ? i already enable the debugging USB feature.

QUOTE(nokia6280 @ Apr 22 2015, 07:11 AM) Cyanogemod is custom ROM therefore you need to root it first before flashing.. Have you rooted? Ermmm i read using odin .. no need to root. if other tool then need to root it first.

QUOTE(nasrulafiq93 @ Apr 22 2015, 08:34 AM) FYI u can flash Ultra Power Saving Mode mod on the stock rooted S4. Here's the link: XDA ThreadThis is really helpful. The Ultra Power Saving is the only feature i want in my S4. If this is available separately .. then it is sufficient. But looking at it .. the author only tries it on I9506. So i not dare to install on I9505. Furthermore it is too technical. Anybody has tried this addon ? This post has been edited by guyfriendx: Apr 22 2015, 01:30 PM

QUOTE(benny888 @ Apr 22 2015, 09:36 AM) So far most of if not all the Samsung phones I had used can install CWM recovery WITHOUT root by simply flashing the CWM tar file through Odin So i still need to root ?

QUOTE(benny888 @ Apr 22 2015, 04:47 PM) I already clearly said just flash the Cwm tar file will do Root is optional Either way your warranty is void Might as well root phone to have more flexibility The funny thing about it is that, so many tutorial i read, it ask to use odin first to flash the custom recovery image and then root the device. In my case, i can't even flash the custom recovery. Well not that i cannot flash, the flash is successful but after a reboot, i found out the recovery rom is still the standard one and does not change to image i just flash (even after it said the flash is successful) This post has been edited by guyfriendx: Apr 22 2015, 04:59 PM
