4.4.4 wont add new features, mostly bug fixes and security patches IINM. for new features we need to wait for android L which may or may not arrive for our S4.

CF-root will trigger your knox to 0x1. Only towelroot that have successfully root without tripping knox, but from what i know only Qualcomm variant that is compatible, not Exynos.

Already did long time ago with the One Plus but now changed back to the bright side @ Iphone.

I can say CM11s is space ages better than Samsung's Touchwiz.

Was meant to say Samseng is taking too long in updating their phones.

My wife's S4 having blank screen problem..the phone seems working..the buttons lights up..but the screen is blank..already sent to samsung for warranty..this is the second time it happen..first time happen after 1 month she bought the phone and took 2 weeks to repair the phone..The phone still new..bought on july 2014..i search on the internet and found out that quite a lot user having this problem..anyone having this problem before?

Even hard reset didnt solve the issue? Never heard of it though.

I did asked her to try hard reset but still same..not sure she did it correctly or not..she live in johor and i live in terengganu so i can't do it for her..but when she try remove the battery, insert back and power on, the problem still exist..when power on the phone, can still see samsung logo but after that became blank..luckily still under warranty..but just 4 month use already 2 times happen..hope no more problem after this or will decide to sell the phone..

Seems like the phone is not booting up properly.

After the screen became blank, when press the home button, the capacitive button below lights up..but the screen still blank..i'm not sure what firmware version it has..but not the latest version coz i didn't update when the phone found an update in september..S4 i9500..should i update after collect from service centre? any problem after update to latest firmware?

Stock firmware on the s4 is still on 4.3 which is android jelly bean. The lattest update is 4.4.2 which is android kit kat. Just get it updated to jellybean via OTA updates. Im sure most forummers here are on kit kat now.

Thanks..my wife's S4 firmware maybe 4.2.2..maybe i should try update to 4.3 first..who knows maybe the problem can be solve after update firmware..before this i'm afraid to update in case got problem after update to 4.3..i read on the internet some user having problem such as battery drain after update to 4.3..

Quite rare to see S4 newly bought (July 2014) came out with 4.2.2 firmware. Might be old stock. Youre totally got the facts wrong, the best firmware in terms of stability and battery life (For S4) is 4.3 Jelly bean. Kitkat 4.4.2 is the culprit, battery life is not that good but stable.

If the phone still shows Samsung Bootscreen means its totally can be saved without sending to warranty. Reboot into recovery mode, Wipe data, if problem still persists, flash 4.3 firmware through ODIN

You can't update to 4.3 now. The current update is 4.4.2.

anyone using slimkat 8.4? i tried, but something with the camera apps, even try installing other camera apps also same. When i locked the phone orientation, and i open camera apps, then normally we will take landscape orientation photo, so i rotate the phone, but the camera interface did not rotate, and the photo came out is in potrait orientation instead of landscape. Meaning to say, the auto orientation doesnt work in the camera apps. If previous samsung camera apps, even u lock the auto orient at phone, the camera apps will still rotate.
