I revived my wife Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500 on 3G only no 4G), found out the battery drained too fast.
Configured to lowest brightness and reset the phone with basic aps in it.

I thought it caused by the battery, then I bought a new set of battery from Samsung KLCC RM100+.

PS: On Android version 5.0.1

Unfortunately, same result but better than previous old battery.

Have you checked the usual stuff like wifi, sync, background apps, etc..

Anyways, s4 battery performance is not something to be proud of the begin with..

I can drop from 100% to 80 % in 15 minutes of Clash Royale..so yea..keep chargers or battery banks nearby..

I have been using the S4 I9505 for nearly 3 years. The battery drains quickest if connected to mobile data. Significantly less battery drain if connected to WiFi.

Nowadays a full charge in the morning will last me until evening based on my usage pattern. I use third-party replacement batteries. Pisen, Nohon and Deji but now unable to get Deji. Pisen can get from Lelong, Nohon from AliExpress. I swap out the depleted battery in the evening and charge it using a separate battery charger. I normally carry a spare battery with me when I go out. Smaller and lighter compared to a power bank (So far I have not used a power bank).

The I9505 has a bit better battery life compared to the I9500. When I had the S5, the battery help up for at least one day usage for me.

Off mobile data, off Wifi and of course background apps can't do nothing without internet.
Yes I can survive for whole day.

On mobile data, use WhatsApp then my battery can't last longer than 4 to 6 hours.

Normal browsing with browser or Facebook apps? I can feel the telephone become so hot around the back of top near camera. Then my battery will be drop around 20-30 percent in 10-15 minutes.

I heard third party batteries have shorter charge cycle compared to original battery. Is it true?

I only revived my wife S4 after bought her S6 Edge.
I used to admire S4 when it's first launch in market but the price hahahahahahha, I went for Nokia 1320.

Maybe I can try revert back this phone to it's first Android version instead of using Lollipop? But how about other application like WhatsApp and others if I revert this phone to previous Android version?

Anyone mind to share?

whatsapp can still be use and updated, no issue.
