Anyone here has figure on FC for both VTEC and iDSI?
(Better to have it self calculated instead of relying on the L/km dashboard calculation)

I know it is subjective, that's why I ask here to hope all owner could feedback so I can know the rough figure from heavy-leg-hi-rev to feather-light leg results, because I'm going to own one sooner or later, but the FC thing holding me back.
Pls... just any owner, VTEC/iDSI... traffic conditions... and milleage total. p/s: Reporting milleage do helps as I found out many saying Honda engine need longer burn-in period, more like in the range 10k to 20k km. QUOTE i managed 580km on idsi with city driving my best ever after my 20k service Thanks. How many litres for 580km? Btw, from what I heard, many people could achieve better FC after 20k km. The demo unit of iDSI feature a Kenwood player which support MP3, but the brochure state it doesn't play MP3. Weird.

QUOTE After ur City warranty expired (100,000km or 3 years), would u guy still continue send in Honda SC service/maintenance? Most probably yes. Because I can't imagine what would happen if they put in some cheapo Nasa ATF into the CVT gearbox. However maybe engine oil I would source outside (Motul maybe?). QUOTE with 15" tyres i can get almost RM85=718km with 17" tyres i can get almost RM80=600km anyway, this fc stuff already discussed way back then.. many many times already.. Thanks. I was reading this thread from page 1 until 3am searching for FC reports (not finished yet |

QUOTE(cskean @ Jun 27 2007, 11:24 AM) Regarding the FC for Vtec version. It varies from drivers to drivers. Also depend on the driving style, eg: daily routine, light/heavy right foot and so on. Thank you. I'm driving a Vtec myself, and my FC would be RM70 for 450km+-, I have friends who are driving Vtec as well, one can get RM70 for 500-550km and another for average of RM70 for 600km. But bear in mind, I'm working as a salesperson, so I do start and stop my car a lot during working time and in short distance, where else both of my friends, they are working from 9am-5pm, mostly travel using highway(meaning less start/stop). I believe you can judge it from here. Hope this will clear your mind. If you really concern of FC, think no more, go for IDSI. If you can compromise with FC, then VTEC is definately your right choice~ Cheers~ |

QUOTE(Are_keem @ Jun 27 2007, 06:05 PM) dont want to flame/insult vios users and fans but IMO, city's interior looks more elegant.. speedo also simple and not messy Most probably I'm going to book City VTEC too, as I like analogue dials/meters/indicators. I hate digital bars fuel indicator. Exterior wise Vios look fierce. Interior wise City look more elegant and higher class. Space wise... This post has been edited by dstl1128: Jun 27 2007, 06:12 PM |

Cool. IMO, iDSI and VTEC shouldn't be that far apart in terms of FC for light footer. Given that, having dark/black interior, self-illumination dashboard and rear disc brake, VTEC should be my choice. That's why I'm concern with VTEC FC because most pages in here I search are iDSI. And according to TOVA from WongKN, VTEC run-in needs about 10,000km, so that's one of the reason why I decided to ask again.
Anyway, so as long as VTEC could give me 14km/L to 16km/L (more if long distant highway), I'm ok. If it avg me around 10km/L to 13km/L, I would take iDSL. FC is still a concern but not until I would be ass about it craving for >20km/L. Otherwise I would just get Waja 9km/L and be done with it. Cheers everyone. p/s: I wonder why wouldn't they put the same interior color, rear disc brake, dash board, and differs only the engine. |

QUOTE(Kelv @ Jun 28 2007, 11:31 AM) The problem is Honda insisting iDSI is not inferior to VTEC, it is just catter another needs. With that differences, it is inferior to VTEC so to say. They could have just maintain the self-illumination dashboard and rear disc brake - making it the 'same' level. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Jun 28 2007, 11:49 AM |

QUOTE My IDSI City also around that... Everyday go work jam, come back jam... Any car in jam the FC won't be lower than its avg. The only thing is smaller cc car will fare better in jam. QUOTE the back chair is the only major dif. IMO, the drum brake and optitron meter are also major diff. QUOTE haha.. not to break your dreams.. but my vtec really giving me 13km/L. just service the car last week. now still driving and see if the FC did improve a bit or not. What is the road condition? If smooth traffic (just occasion jam) and >50% highway? FYI, my Myvi EZI are in the range 13km/L to 15km/L for this condition. |
