Thanks.

I've went through the thread.
It seems like isolated cases irregardless of whether it is a 3rd or 4th Gen model, irregardless of which batch as well. Most of which happens after battery replacements? hmm.gif

I've been driving my City for 2.5years before passing it to my sister, and have never experienced such a problem. I must admit that i'm not gentle at all with my car, and no problems whatsoever with the EPS except that i dislike it's lack of feedback and response.

I'm not really sure what to comment on that issue as it is relatively new. (May 2007?)

It may be some other problems that caused the accident. Why? To my understanding of an EPS failure, it wouldn't lock itself or automatically steer left/right. The steering will become very heavy due to power assistance malfunction.

It may be possibly brake related (ABS/EBD?). It would make more sense that the front right wheel locks up (ABS/EBD control for that particular wheel kicks in due to a short-circuit?) and as three other wheels are still spinning, it causes the swerving at the right-wheel point.

My assumption anyways, so unless that thread has progress on the actual part failure.. there's no actual confirmation on this issue.

It's really too uncommon to warrant much worries, I guess.  Who knows what those guys mod with their cars?  I was just pointing out that it happens, not to discourage people from buying the car.  Like some other forumers love to point out, Camry also caught fire lah, right?  Who knows what actually happened?
*
No worries, sharing such new information is good smile.gif
Either way I guess that not all cars are perfectly built.

my dad pass away & guess what
i'm da eldest daughter there
the car have been giving us problems b4 my dad pass away
wonder wanna sell or wanna send to workshop to fix it
hmm.gif  hmm.gif

bebee,
sorry to hear about that..

is the car under your name or any of your family member's name?
if it's still under your dad's name, is it possible to renew the roadtax/insurance? blink.gif
even when it comes to selling, the car transfer wouldn't be possible as well.. unless you use a runner that is, with "extra fees" ? hmm.gif

i'm not entirely sure about this issue though.

i was think about that too.. themore i wait the more i lose

Mydelsol:
its ok no worries
problem is the car still got another 3 month havent pay doh.gif
this is another problem as well
i dun have car license what for i wan a better car unless i got my license

JackieLeong:
hey buddy, i'm ok with it smile.gif
the car is under my dad name doh.gif
i am not sure is it possible to renew the road tax or not as the road tax will end next 3 months as well
runner with extra fees? no idea la..  unsure.gif
*
bebee,
the car is under your dad's name? sweat.gif
there's still another 3months of installment overdue?
so that means after 3 months, the car would be fully paid for and that you will have full ownership over the car? (well, your dad actually).
so if you plan on selling the car, very likely you will need the help of a runner to do the name transfer (cuz they can pretty much settle issues as long as u've got the money to pay for their services). not entirely sure about the roadtax/insurance renewal stuff as the car belongs to a deceased unsure.gif
best to consult someone who knows about these kinda things well..

Hi Guys,

Is there a good strut bar that you guys can recommend for my city?
I'm thinking about adding one to give my car a little more stability + psychological factors for myself  laugh.gif

Oh yeah, throw in the shop name as well.

Thanks in advance.

I got my zenden 2-point front struts from Best Feel Sunway 2 years ago..
I guess Zenden and Ultra Racing are the two brands most owners have on their cars..

i think there are sellers for these items in the automotive garage sales.. check it out smile.gif

vibration to the steering = balancing
if car pulls to the left/right on a straight road = alignment

Is it up until 200rpm before the redline or 2000rpm before?
Hehe i didn't notice, i was too busy flooring and can't hear engine sound too much as i turned my radio on.  sweat.gif
Will check next time and see where it shift.

Oh yeah, i was a bit annoyed because it shifted down when i don't want it to tongue.gif
I know i know.. not really the point there (imagine who wants to stay in fifth gear when you're at 10km/h?) but somehow i just want total manual control.

For more expensive cars which have this manual auto option... does it work the same way as City does? Or it stays on manual no matter how hard you rev or how slow you are?

Coconot... what is UDM??

And hey i won on that test race (ehem, i was not racing, i was just testing how fast my car can go, and it was on a controlled environment - other's, please do not do this at home)  laugh.gif . Not because of the car. But the beamer driver is not skilled enough. I overtook him when he was blocked by some cars, i slipped through and then he tried to chase me but i was too fast for him to catch up.

Before that we did a sprint on a straight empty road, i was flooring but the beamer just kept going faster (i think i was at 170, don't know how fast the beamer went 200 maybe?)  shakehead.gif  shocking.gif
*
the transmission automatically shifts up at 6300rpm.

UDM = Ultimate Driving Machine
that was like the tagline for BMW before they changed to Sheer Driving Pleasure which did kick up quite a fuss among followers.

Yea the holes are noticable from close range, and if you look closely, the colour are rather blackish.. pity my car sad.gif
Any way to prevent further injury?  icon_question.gif

should be able to get them at Eneos.
hehe, it's a common thing.. only way to reduce it is to keep your distance from the vehicle in front, especially heavy vehicles like trailers and lorries..

oh, those with bodykit but stock suspension, you still gotta be careful with the parkings at genting.. my city hit the front lips and side-skirts before laugh.gif

Yeap, you'll have to remove the wheel arch (banana leaf) to reach the bulbs wink.gif

It was a real pain to do adjustments cuz when I previously installed HID on the car cuz I had to adjust it from the wheel arch, folded to the inside.. lots of scratches all over my arm when i'm done with the beam leveling work sweat.gif

rm50 can go up to 264 only until light turns on  sad.gif

Should i go to honda SC or to normal workshop and get them to troubleshoot for me?
Btw, i'm using standard rims and all other remains standard idsi.

that's not very accurate in measuring your fuel consumption.
you should fill it up to full, until the pump's trigger kicks off on its own.
travel till the low fuel indicator lights come on, then refill to full again (until trigger kicks off)..
then take that reading (RM or Litres and compare it with your Mileage).

My mileage was 33k and went for 50k servicing just now, cuz the 2 years warranty is already over.. the labour charges for 50k is super hefty doh.gif

Aiyo.. already fill to full last time, can do roughly about 400km on full tank only. The most i can do is 500km per full tank. And that's with consistant 80km/h driving (all the time!). Cannot tahan anymore leh, now drive like normal and full can go 400+ only sad.gif

No lah, don't have any lubang to change to turbo. I doubt that city can put evo engines?? The engine bay too small tongue.gif

Yaloh, next month i go normal service first, then only if FC remains the same i go and further check sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad meh.. i dun mind if FC bit more if HP can go up, but FC up and HP same, no point..
*
full city driving?
do you carry a lot of load in the car?
tires well inflated?

every now and then, try driving the car hard.
on my vtec, daily high-revving driving could still get me 300km on a fulltank.

hi neat...thanks for the tip the car that im looking at basically has no additional acessory whatsoever including what you've mentioned,  sweat.gif maybe I can reduce the price or something,  btw where you'd guys service your City? at the Honda SC or your trusted mechs? how much you guys parts with money wise for each service?
*
recently serviced my sis's city at service centre for 50,000km (my odometer is just 34,000km, plus it's after 2 and half years already) and the regular service cost me RM2xx, can't recall exact figure but their labour itself was RM104 doh.gif so i guess i wouldn't be returning to the service centre anymore. after all my 3years warranty is gonna be over by Feb 2008.

shocking.gif normal service cost RM200+?
Normal service with just change of engine oil?
that is expensive. mine was less than RM200, forgot the exact amount.
*
tell me bout it..
i'm past my 2 year free maintenance service, i can't exactly recall the 45000km service labour fee.
i took their promotional package of RM126, inclusive of semi-synthetic engine oil (i've been using semi-synth), oil filter and fuel cleaner additive.
for 50,000km servicing, they service your brakes as well at the cost that's already included in the labour fee. ohmy.gif

since it's not for performance, just stick to stock ones.
do you plan to get them replaced at SC? i'd rather go to elsewhere since the warranty has already expired.

the parts and labour at SC can be pretty high i guess.
may be cheaper getting the parts from a honda parts supplier, and having your regular shop replace them.

yeah, tire pressure affects fuel consumption. recommended 32psi front, 30psi rear.

my city averages between 400-450km for 35litres of petrol.
