according to wiki... seems the film is loyal to the event documentation. and... "In her role as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton subsequently took responsibility for the security lapses.". well, she is about to become the next POTUS!

anyone who like 13 hours can check out these of the same genre, supposedly true or based on true events.

Saving Private Ryan? hmm.gif

QUOTE
Saving Private Ryan--The Facts Behind the Story

While the basic story in this film is fiction, there are a number of factual elements involved. In the story, two brothers from the Ryan family - the only children - are both soldiers sent to the ETO during World War II. One brother is killed on D-Day and the remaining brother - a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division - has been mis-dropped over Normandy and can't be found. The U.S. Army badly wants to find him and get him out of combat since he's now become the Ryan family's sole-surviving son.

There was an actual case like this that occurred in World War II but it was hardly as dramatic. On orders from the War Department, a soldier who was thought to be a sole-surviving son was actually ordered out of combat to preserve the family line. In that case, a brother had been killed in action and another brother was missing in action and presumed lost. It turns out the second brother was repatriated, but that was after the third son had been sent out of the combat zone.

Such procedures were rare but common in applicable cases in World War II as a result of the loss of five brothers of the Sullivan family when their ship, the cruiser USS Juneau, was sunk in the south Pacific. Congress passed a law (known as the Sullivan Law) after that tragic event which effectively restricted brothers from serving together in combat units and kept sole-surviving sons from assignment to a combat zone unless that individual volunteered.

Gods of Egypt (2016) Addendum

For my original review, please goto

Mov Freak's Gods of Egypt Review

It is STILL not good second time round...

Was surprise to discover that Chadwick Boseman played Thoth (he is now more well know as Black Panther)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

What is sad is that if you watched the making of, the whole team put so much afford into this movie. I actually had more fun watching the making of, compared with the actual movie (At the beginning of the movie, there was a fight between Set and Horus, in the making of, during rehearsal, Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) kept grabbing Set (Gerard Butler) privates.... When Set was standing over Horus.... (Gerard actually blushed!! tongue.gif)

Also sad the fact I was enthusiastic about this movie was because of Alex Proyas (who also directed I Robot (2004) and Dark City (1998) both I like alot)

A for effort
D for delivery...

He's a widower in Paris who speaks no French; she's a dance instructor less than half his age. Can they become a family, or will his estranged adult children halt the friendship? blush.gif

IMDB - 6.8/10 hmm.gif

First of all, Michael Caine plays as an American widower living in Paris? His accent doesn't even sound American. I don't agree with IMDB's rating. Overrated. Anyway, we'll move on with this movie. Character wise was decent. The story was good in the beginning but disappointing towards the end. This movie reminds me of Julie Delpy's Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight series but of course different storyline. If you're into drama/romance genre, this movie might suit you but be prepared for a lengthy long dialogue. Movie tips - If you're feeling sleepy, don't watch! icon_rolleyes.gif

A former DEA agent moves his family to a quiet town, where he soon tangles with a local meth drug lord. sweat.gif

IMDB - 6.5/10 thumbup.gif

An action pack movie that include Jason Statham, James Franco & Winona Ryder? What more can you ask for? The action scene's were very intense and you wouldn't want to leave your seat for a second. Nevertheless there are many movies like this type but this definitely one of the best. Great movie at any afternoon! Movie tips - Damn fat boy! thumbsup.gif

A documentary exploring genre based monster art takes an odd turn when the filmmakers are contacted by a man who claims he can prove that monsters are indeed real. icon_question.gif

IMDB - 5.8/10 icon_idea.gif

I feel this movie was underrated and lack of promotion. It's a mockumentary about MONSTER whether they exists or just some fantasy. The plot was awesome and you don't want to go anywhere just to follow up the story. A few surprises along the way and superb acting especially Ray Wise (William Dekker). This movie offers something different and your perception about deformed children. It's hard for me to recommend this movie to any horror fans unless you are a true found footage fan. Go give it a try after midnight. Part 2 in the making? Movie tips - Monsters are real! thumbup.gif

Er... You know that "Ironman" was Marvel 2nd grand character until the movie right

Marvel had at that time licensed out all the 1st grade character (X-Men, Spiderman Daredevil, Thor etc)...

I wouldn't know they 2nd grade character, not after 2008, not after Ironman... tongue.gif

The Revenant

This movie does not sound sexy, not inspiring initially just by looking at the poster, and the whole image seems to suggest that the movie was meant for serious weekday watch, paid to watch, that is. Not as a weekend leisure enjoyment.

Well after watching it I tend to agree only on one thing. This is not a weekend Leisure enjoyment, but for serious movie buff, this is a must watch. Especially true if we somehow seems to get saturated by over the top CGI, mindless actions, Hollywood mass productions overdose.

The whole film was shot as if entirely with one wide angle lens. Which I love, especially on the wild and ruthless terrain of the American Winter West. Wide angle also gave us the perspective of being an observant within the story itself.

Oh CGI is definitely there for sure. They are there just to make the events very very realistic. The bear scene, how many of you all who have watched it fearing the bear will actually bite his groin ? I do ! Dont' laugh ya.

The story is convincing, and it showed the raw and punishing events happening in a very tough natural environment. I like the movie very much.

I was pleasantly surprised that the haunting soundtracks was actually penned by Ryuichi Sakamoto ! It surely did not sound like his !

highest-grossing chinese film of all time is ....stephen chow's mermaid.

a good one to watch, some very laughable moments.

but i can't say it is better than kung fu, shaolin soccer or god of cookery.

i would put it as good as a chinese odyssey or conquering the demons. 3/5.

New York police officer Ralph Sarchie investigates a series of crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest, schooled in the rites of exorcism, to combat the possessions that are terrorizing their city. ohmy.gif

IMDB - 6.2/10 notworthy.gif

Inspired by the actual accounts of an NYPD sergeant name Ralph Sarchie played by Eric Bana, this story is in different class than other stereotype exorcism movies. I enjoyed watching this movie especially the ending. Everything seems realistic and genuine. All the plots were interesting and thrilling. Demonic possession genre with a different twist. Hardcore horror fans might want to check in this movie after midnight. Highly recommended! Movie tips - 6 stages of exorcism! sweat.gif

Over-imaginative 12 year-old Sam heads off to the woods to summer scout camp with his pack convinced he will encounter a monster...and he does. devil.gif

IMDB - 5.9/10 cool2.gif

Are you ready for Belgium's classic summer scout camp horror story? I would welcome you a curious legend named "Kai". I think this movie offers fresh storyline although the main culprit's real intension is rather a mystery but pretty much sadistic. The atmosphere was creepy enough and horror/thriller fans might just want to give it a try. The IMDB rating is slightly overrated in my opinion but that doesn't matter much. Recommended at any given day. Movie Tips - Stick to your original camping place! brows.gif
