insurgent and allegiant are post apocalyptic syfy action movies. 2.5/5.

much like hunger games, geared towards the younger generation and not the traditional old fashioned syfy.

a third and final rendition of the trilogy, ascendant is in the making.

Kubo and the 2 strings is a fine stop-motion movie.

japanese theme but is hollywood.

not quite the usual animation but is fun for the family.

if u like it, go for planet earth II 2016, now into 2nd episode of 6.

the sequel is as good as the first one. 4.5/5.

in the movie world, we have had terrorists, aliens, predators, ghosts, walking dead, etc.

this idea of a man-made supernatural terror is fresh! got me googling "bose-einstein condensate"!

league of gods 封神榜 is an ambitious chinese fantasy movie production. great decor, inspired by LOTR/hobbit and maybe x-men... but a bit of overdose of animation and cgi. star studded cast with jet li, tony leung, fang bingbing, angela baby, andy on, luis koo, etc. but... poor movie version of the original fengshen yanyi chronicles, poor subplots, poor story editing.

still, fairly good entertainment, 3/5.

with the right file, one in dtshdma, the other in ddtruehd.

inferno, i'll give it 2.5/5. it's in the same mold of many other "apolocalyptic threat" thrillers, nothing new.

deepwater horizon, i'll give it 3/5. makes it more interesting if one understands the physics of subsea oil drilling.

another one, denial 2016 about the holocaust. full drama but a powerful one with superb performances from rachael weisz and tom wilkinson, 3/5.
