aquaman 2018...

waited n watched it in full 4k hdr.

simple story but excellent entertainment... more so with such good ILM special effects... so many wonderful shades of colors and contrast.

much of the film was done in gold coast, australia; the "hair flowing in water" effects were shot individually n computer permutated, cost $$.

and the marine creatures u saw... battle lobsters, big sharks, orcas, sea dragons, trench monsters, tylosaurus (extinct since 65 mil yrs ago), karathen (a kaiju). biggrin.gif

the movie cost $200 mil but has now grossed >$1.1 bil.

directed by james wan (furious7). 3.5/5.

can expect a sequel and/or some spinoff... since there are 7 kingdoms in the atlantean world.

agree...

i dun really like these DC or Marvel superhero movies that much; more for the special effects and the wow factor with those $$$ they spend.

i actually prefer other syfy-fantasy like alien, blade runner, ghost in the shell and yet-to-see alita.

well, there is also new godzilla and ultraman coming...!! biggrin.gif

two rather "special" movies for u to watch.

the quake 2018 is a norwegian disaster film, a sequel to the wave 2015.

with no action heroes riding choppers to save the girl or doing superman stunts like u see in hollywood ones, the film is down to earth.

about how common people behave in the face of such a natural disaster horror, how terrifying it is when an earthquake hits.

the wave was about a rockslide producing a tsunami in a small town in norway while the quake is about the actual earthquake hitting oslo city.

some very realistic and disturbing scenes. 3/5.

triple threat 2019 is an action martial arts movie.

stars all the fighters - tony jaa, iko uwais, tiger chen... + scott adkins, michael jai white, michael bisping, jeeja yanin - all known martial artists.

all of them had their chance to throw kicks and punches... tony jaa surely relived his ongbak days while uwais did some nice silat.

i expected more but it was a bit disappointing.

the action is fine but it lacks a good plot and some better acting.

not sure but i think the movie was filmed in indonesia, thailand and maybe cambodia or laos. 2.5/5.

if u like klansman, u will like Green Book - lighter, some humor but confronts the same USA 60's racism issues in the deep south.

powerful performances from Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali (oscar for supporting actor).

true story, based on a book.

won oscar for best picture. 3/5.

Thanks for introduce this great movie, finally I got time to watch it!

It is a great show with nice humor, touching and good way of represent the colored.
Both is actually changing indirectly to a good way.

Great to know they are best friend forever until the last day.
I had read the wiki about it and they do some controversial from Shirley family about this film.
Anyway only them known the actual story.

It deserve Best Picture. 5 Star for me. smile.gif

I also just finish watching (actually is re-watch as I watch all 3 before in cinema) the M. Night Shyamalan - American Superhero thriller film.

Beside The Sixth Sense, I find this 3 is the most brilliant film ever write and direct by him. He successful make this trilogy complete after 19 years which is a very long period than usual trilogy people make where he manage to invite most people back include the kid in Unbreakable where now is adult in Glass.

I give Unbreakable (5 star), Split (4 star) and Glass (4.5 star).

By the way if you want to sound test your system, Glass is one of the best sound film in Dolby Atmos.

The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018)

Overview
When a cop who is just out of rehab takes the graveyard shift in a city hospital morgue, she faces a series of bizarre, violent events caused by an evil entity in one of the corpses.

As a horror fan, it's quite good, not many quality horror movie these days other than James Wan movies.

Plex only got one package and no need to paid as the paid feature is kind of useless.

Plex don't have movies inside, it just an apps that put nicely all your movies collection.

if u like korean films, check out The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion.

a mystery-action movie, it starts off as a slow teaser but the rest comes out nicely.

without much cgi and animation frills, it is a sort of x-men-terminator-blade runner syfy action flick.

as the title and the ending suggest, there will be a sequel, probably where all the secrets behind the story will be revealed. 3/5.

Ja-yoon is a high school student who struggles with memory loss after she endured some unknown trauma during her childhood. While trying to uncover the truth, she is unwittingly dragged into a world of crime and finds herself on a journey that will awaken many secrets hidden deep within.

Thank you for the recomendation. Really good if you're kmovie lovers, little bit slow if you just know korean movies like that popular zombie train movie.
