Valerian and the city of a thousand planets : 1080p DD5.1 -

Visually stunning until I can't differentiate CGI with real actors.

otherlife is pretty good, quite an intense syfy drama.

does make u think a bit, like inception minus the grand thrilling actions.

ya, 3/5.

I prefer blockbuster scifi than syfy-ish scifi.

Another movie i watched last nite quite interesting

Jungle 1080p DD5.1 - that Harry Potter guy leading role - reminds me of another adventure movie of his the Swiss Army Man

Surround sound superb, all the time i thought i was in the jungle. 4/5

surely big budget "real" syfy is good! biggrin.gif

in the likes of matrix, avatar, inception, interstellar...
but some low budget ones are good too, more about the syfy ideas behind them.

if u haven't watched, i can suggest ex-machina and predestination.

there is also a tv series "electric dreams" going on now - based on short stories of philip dick, the guy who wrote blade runner, total recall, minority report.

obviously, i am looking forward to blade runner 2049!

LMAO no when i said Syfy i mean those crap scifi movies showing in Syfy channel like Sharknado, Lavalantula, Anonymous Rex, Piranhaconda, Frankenfish, Dinocroc vs. Supergator LOL

Currently im watching Ghost War on Syfy, some episodes tend to go Syfy-ish though

kingsman the golden circle is worth a watch.

i like it more than the first one.

it is a "james bond+johnny english" kind of action comedy.

u get the original guys like colin firth, mark strong... plus julian moore, pedro pascal, halle berry... and elton john! rclxms.gif

seems everyone wants to to be in it, like star wars.

great action, good humor. 3/5.

I thought the previous one was way better. The whole golden circle tattoo on the skin kinda illogical. Using Mr Pecker for Galahad to get his memory back was weak on the script writing part.

I can only grabbed the one with DTS and PQ was ok, 2/5 from me even they tried so hard to include many A list american actor/ess inside this franchise.

i would call dunkirk 2107 a war suspense drama.

little dialogue, some action but not the kind of war action you see in saving private ryan or black hawk down.

it is about churchill's call to 300,000 british soldiers trapped in france to live to fight another day in 1940.

not much focus on any particular actor... stars tom hardy, james darcy, kenneth branagh, cillian murphy with a few lines voiced by michael caine.

it is a good movie with excellent cinematography and screenplay by christopher nolan, particularly the aerial shots of spitfires vs stukas.

will probably win an oscar or two. 4/5.
4/5? lil high compare to other Nolan's movies.

I give 4/5 for sound. Movie meh 2/5.

Jeepers creepers always not disappointing

i didn't watch the first one, did not expect much.... but...

beyond skyline (sequel to skyline) is not bad at all!

syfy... alien invasion, badass aliens, action full, never a dull moment.

this alien movie is refreshing, fast paced, highly watchable.

stars frank grillo, iko uwais, yayan ruhian.

yes, the guys from raid redemption are still doing their kicks and punches besides knives and guns!

3.5/5.

jumani: welcome to the jungle is an action comedy - for the family.
it received great reviews but i found it ordinary... lacks the oomph and wow factor i was expecting.
fine to watch but do not expect too much. 3/5.

star wars: the last jedi is good.
in the usual tradition, it has everything a good star wars movie would have. 4/5.
and everyone wants to be in a star wars movie... andy serkis and benicio del toro made it in this one.
star wars ix, the final in this trilogy is planned fro dec 2019.

annihilation 2018 is an interesting syfy film.
in the same genre but is very different from any "alien" movie.
it is not action packed but explores some new things, visually captivating.
stars natalie portman and jennifer jason leigh. 4/5.
